Yesterday’s European PlayStation Store re-launch did not go according plan. Following a catastrophic roll-out marred by slow loading and bugs, the platform holder has decided to delay the release of the new digital storefront in some territories for the time being.
“The phased launch of the new PlayStation Store has been temporarily postponed in some territories as teething issues related to the global roll-out of the Store are being addressed and resolved,” a spokesperson for the company said. “It is really important to us that the best possible Store experience is delivered and we appreciate your patience as we resolve these matters.”
The new PlayStation Store is currently available in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, UAE, Kuwait , Qatar, India, Israel, Slovenia, Hungary, Turkey, Greece and South Africa. Sony did not state whether the delay would have an impact on next week’s expected North American launch.

What a mess! How does Sony keep pulling this off?
I guess that means I should be thanking you guys for beta testing the store for us here in NA .
@ohhaime we could think of it like that, hehe.
@ohhaime Pretty much. At this stage, though, I doubt the US version will even release next week. They need to do something, because the UK Store is in a tragic state right now. In the PlayStation Plus section, there are like five boxes named "Freebies" — and each one has different things in it. MAKES NO SENSE.
Logged in yesterday here in Portugal and the store was chaotic. Still the old layout, but impossible to navigate: you just couldn't access any of the boxes, you'd click on them and nothing would happen. What a mess.
@get2sammyb Strangely I was having this issue even before the update. The store is pretty stuffed though. Errors, lockups, the whole shebang.
@devperson Oh yeah, me too. The EU PSN store has been a mess for months now — I just assumed the reason it was all muddled up was because they were focusing on the new design. But now that's been delayed, I'm not sure how much longer I can take the old one. It's terrible.
My God, this is just ridiculous. Nothing is ever easy with Sony. The store was ripe for a great looking reboot and now we get this. Their technical teams have been atrocious since the start of this generation - things really need to improve when it comes to the PS4 and the PSN. Get it together Sony!
The new store has launched on my county (Greece) as stated in the article.
I went to download a PSP game I had bought and it telled me I can't access the content! After logging in again the issue was resolved.
Generally the organization of content is the same but problems like those get2sammyb mentioned are no more.
Also you can group the content not only A-Z but by release date and price. You can filter content by 3D or move compatibility etc.
The Portugal store has been crap since summer, it has blaks spots, some images won't load
It's a freaking mess ._.
Is anything else to be expected from Sony at this point?
Hopefully, once all of their restructuring is over they will go back to not releasing half-backed games/services (e.g. ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Resistance: Burning Skies, PlayStation Mobile, PS Vita, etc.) like they have over the past year.
I don't get the "utter disaster" pun, were cows involved in the update?
