Details regarding the next game from Halo creators Bungie have leaked online, confirming that the legendary studio is about to make its debut on PlayStation 3. According to the super secret information shared with IGN, the upcoming Destiny is a “sci-fantasy action shooter” that’s designed to be both “fun and accessible”. The title will supposedly boast “a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise”.
In response to the leak, Bungie uploaded a single piece of concept art to its website. The accompanying post noted: “Go ahead. Take a peek. It's alright. We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can't wait to finally show you what we've really been up to.”
The image shows the Earth in a future that’s "littered with the ruins of man's Golden Age”. Honestly, it looks a lot like Killzone. “A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it's here for, but only that it's our protector,” the marketing material uncovered by IGN added. “Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights' tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters, and – eventually – overcoming it."
Court documents revealed as part of Activision’s lawsuit with Jason West and Vince Zampella previously indicated that Destiny would launch as an Xbox 360 exclusive in 2013, before spreading to Sony’s next generation console a year later. That doesn’t appear to be the case anymore, as Bungie’s website even acknowledges that it’s hiring PS3 developers.
You can get a good look at the game over on IGN. In the meantime, let us know whether you’re excited to see Bungie branching out in the comments section below.

I am excited about this, lets just hope they can actually program for the PS3 and not send out piles of crap like Bethesda.
This is the single best piece of news for PS3 first-person shooter fans who've acknowledged Bungie's Halo as undisputed king of the genre.
This may well marketing, but Bungie are industrious and the description includes the suggestion of Shadow of the Colossus type bosses' to overcome.
The play mechanics should rival or even improve upon Master Chief's, and bring awesome AI, flyable ships and supreme gunplay.
Always up for more sci-fi games, I hope Bungie creates something amazing here.
Honestly, I think the artwork looks utterly bland — but I'm open to being won over.
Now, I'm looking forward to this. The only thing that will kill it for me, is if it's a constant MMO type game. If it can be played offline with splitscreen and LAN (System Link), then I'll most likely be all over it until it passes to the next gen systems. I've decided I won't be buying anymore MS or Sony systems. I recently bought a Vita, and now a 3DSXL, and at this time plan to get a Wii U next summer...but I think that's it. I'm done. So my only hopes are that, 1- the sequels this game gets come to Wii U too. 2- Wii U will start supporting LAN. And 3- that The Last Guardian comes out for PS3!
I really like most of the artwork. The alien ship idea is very cool. So is the walking tank. So is the snow!!
Take. My. Money. Now!
I know this will probaly M but I would absolutly love it if this were T and would pre-order it and pick it up midnight.
Can't wait. I'll be getting the 360 version most likely but I hope the PS3 version works out well also. Bungie has been quiet for too long, glad some info is finally starting to trickle out.
The art has already graced my desktop. I am very excited, and glad to know Microsoft didn't buy out exclusivity like they always try to do anymore. -_-
@get2sammyb Really? I think it looks awesome. Very Star Wars.
@Ginkgo It definitely seems like I'm in the minority, doesn't it? Yeah, the art does absolutely nothing for me. Hopefully, the game wins me over. The premise sounds... alright, I guess?
Bungie's first game on ps3 looks awesome so far! I loved the Bungie Halo games, and I can't wait to see what other ideas they have
Might be good but it won't be a Killzone killer for me
