Hot on the heels of the closure of PlayStation: The Official Magazine in North America, print media giant Future Publishing has announced that it is shutting down PSM3 in the UK. The unofficial PlayStation publication dates all the way back to 2000 – where it was originally known as PSM2 – and has published over 160 issues. The final copy will hit store stands on 12th December.
"After careful consideration, Future has made the decision to close Xbox World and PSM3 magazines with the final issues going on sale on December 12,” Future Publishing’s Clair Porteous said. "This decision has been taken as Future continues to focus on its strategy on accelerating digital growth across its international digitally-focussed brand business.”
Affected staff will be redeployed within Future – with many ending up at the currently unaffected UK version of the Official PlayStation Magazine, we assume. It really is a rubbish time for print media.

I was considering subscribing to PSM3 after I recently cancelled my OPM subscription. I thought something was odd when I looked at their website and it was months out of date - no new content since 1st May this year.
wow, now it's hitting the UK? It must be a REALLY sad time in print media
Another one bites the dust.
