There’s no sign of Batman: Arkham City in this week’s North American PlayStation Plus update – but at least you’ll be able to console yourself with a complimentary copy of Anomaly: Warzone Earth instead. Wait. In truth, the 11 Bit Studios developed tower offence title is one of the most popular entries in the genre, but we don’t suppose that’s going to stop the inevitable onslaught of online complaints.
In addition to the free game, Sony has also lined up a slew of seasonal PlayStation Network discounts, all of which are 50 per cent off for PlayStation Plus subscribers. We’ll let you peruse the full line-up, but highlights include Catherine for $19.60 and Rayman Origins for $9.80. Point your browser towards the PlayStation Blog for more details.

"There’s no sign of Batman: Arkham City"
Way to crush all my hopes and dreams in the first sentence.
That said RE4 for $10 and Magic The Gathering for $5 is tempting.
Catherine for $19.60!? Daytona USA and Crush for $2.50!? Holy sh*t, it's time to get a PSN card!
@Knux Yeah, they are great deals!
"If the lineup below isn’t enough, we’ll be refreshing this list with a whole new batch next week (12/24) and the following week (12/31), so stay tuned."
I wish they would just announce what all the games are going to be. I have $16 on my PSN account and I'm not sure if I should get one of these or wait for something better.
@Splat That's what they want, of course!
" tower offence title is one of the most popular entries in the genre,"
There's a tower offence genre?
I didn't think much of that holiday sale list, but I was excited when I saw that Sega was also offering a list of half-off games, until I realized the games I wanted weren't on it. Sonic Adventure and Nights.
Anomaly was an interesting mix of puzzler and tower defense, but I wouldn't be surprised it people felt let down at the game itself - which as someone described it on the PS BLog - a mini - after that movie like opening. They should have saved themselves a lot of time and money and effort and just released the game w/o all the story cut scenes and voice acting.
Anomaly is a really cool game. Kind of a tower-defence game in reverse.
