A sequel to Namco Bandai and Tecmo Koei’s anime tie-in One Piece: Pirate Warriors is coming to both the PlayStation 3 and Vita. The sequel – unsurprisingly named One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 – was announced in the latest issue of Japanese magazine Shonen Jump. The sequel will be set within the so-called ‘New World’ story arc, which we’re sure will mean something to at least one of you. It will supposedly feature new characters and fresh modes.
Additional details are scarce, but this is pretty big news for Sony’s struggling handheld in Japan. The first title sold 655,774 units on PS3 alone back in March, pushing hardware sales over 65,000 units. We’d be surprised if the sequel didn’t give the portable a similar boost.
Naturally, there's no word on a Western release just yet – but the first title did eventually find its way overseas, so there's definitely a chance that the sequel will follow.

That's legit, i enjoyed the first game. Just the waiting to come to the west sucks. Hopefully it comes with a vita bundle, I already own one but I wouldn't mind trading it in if it does get to the west in a bundle.
thats great news for vita in japan...now if only capcom and square enix would show their support...
Good news for vita now just dont release it in the same day as monster hunter and everything will be ok.
I will buy it if/when it comes to NA. It combines two of my favorite things, I physically Can't NOT buy it.
one the my favourite ps3 game so far, surprisingly.
pirate warrior 2 is super tempting, but i never read or watched anything beyond what the first pirate warrior did story-wise. heck, i had spoilers with the first one.
i should watch the show in streaming until then...
