We almost feel sorry for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct developer Terminal Reality. Just weeks after the conclusion of Telltale Games’ award winning episodic series, the North American studio has been forced to release footage of its upcoming first-person shooter based on the television adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s undead franchise. And, in all honesty, it doesn’t look very good.
The Activision published game puts you in control of Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle, as you attempt to fight your way through the Georgian countryside on the way to Atlanta. The trailer embedded below highlights the title’s stealth gameplay, as the player attempts to slip through a town riddled with zombies. It’s not long before the rotten corpses are being brought down with hammers, though, amongst other makeshift implements. What do you make of the video? Let us know in the comments section below.

Hmmm another rushed game ? From the makers of ghostbusters
@Sanquine Spot on. I liked Ghostbusters, but this looks like a serious cash-in.
"The Activision published game puts you in control of Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle."
This is really the only part that peaks my interest and that is coming from a huge TWD fan. And that even gets ruined since I saw and interview on IGN that said Daryl never comes out of FP so you never actually see him.
I hate playing in first person. I have no connection to the main character playing that way.
@get2sammyb Yeah, i think Activision needs to rethink what they are doing. Someday Call of duty is not exicting enough and sales will drop. I think Activision need to invest in games like this.
@Savino : Zombie U is a great game , however the ending is really stupid and the story is total lame because you have no connection with your main character.
@Splat There are ways to get around that, but I generally agree. First-person usually gives you a window into the world, where the other chracters need to take the spotlight.
Um no. If you're going to make yet another zombie game, it better be damn good, and this is pretty clearly NOT.
Could use more polish (and style), and it looks like an early 2005 game.
But then again I'm not a fan of Telltale's Walking Dead either.
Wow, I'm sorry but this looks awful. People were bashing ZombiU when it was actually pretty atmospheric and scary, I wonder how bad they will destroy this game?
I'll take the Left 4 Dead duo any day over this. They're obviously more "actiony" but they're infinitely better looking.
damn....just dont ruin it, this looks pretty awfull...
Is Activision trying to make a new name for themselves? Maybe it's a good business plan to hire the cheapest dev you can find to do the cheapest work on an IP people will probably accidentally buy because of the name, but it certainly can't be the smartest thing for their long term reputation.
How disappointing, when I first heard rumors about it I was kinda excited. which is a shame since The walking Dead would make a great survival horror game if done right, emphasizing the human side of things and the dire situation.
