You’re going to need skin as thick as a rhinoceros to cope with this month’s North American PlayStation Plus update. Not only will you be invited to brave the brutality of the God of War: Ascension beta, but you’ll also have the option to sample both Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 absolutely free of charge. We suspect that this is a devious ploy by Sony to sell more DualShock 3s.
Additional offers this week include a 50 per cent discount on the tasty PlayStation Network strategy title Eufloria, as well as free access to the ‘Recent Winners’ add-on for NCAA Football 13. Are you satisfied? Let us know in the comments section below.

See if this was announced all together for the month like the EU - I wouldn't mind getting them
@ZeD Yeah, I don't think the weekly updates help SCEA. It makes it seem like North American users are getting less, when that's not necessarily the case. They need to switch pronto.
Too true! If you got these with a full retail game you would be happy! Like the EU!
Decent but not great. I guess Arkham City just isn't going to happen. I know they just had it on sale which wouldn't be bad if I didn't know Europe got it for free.
Is the US going to get any full PS3 games this month? It has been nothing but PSN so far.
@Splat They don't announce until Mondays, so it's impossible to say.
@get2sammyb - Ya, I know I'm just kinda thinking out loud lol. I mean NBA Jam is decent and I'm a Mega Man fan but these last few months in the US haven't really impressed me.
When I first got PS+ about 5 months ago I loved it but not so much lately. It's still a good service don't get me wrong but I'm not really feeling like it's great anymore.
I hate to sound like a broken record with the "Europe gets better stuff" every month but it's clearly true.
Just like with NBA Jam, I'd rather get some free avatars or themes than Mega Man.
@Splat
I doubt we're getting Batman for free anytime soon(if at all) since they offered it at a discount. I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling we won't be getting anything worthwhile until Spring.
I already have Mega Man 9 and 10 off of PSN, so this update is freaking useless for me. Why is SCEA dropping the ball so much here lately?
Personally, I am not a fan of any subscription service, so therefor I have issues with PS+ on that level. But what really bothers me is that PS+ has split the Sony community apart. Not a very wise move on their part. They have made it so people not only bicker about XBOX or PS3 being better, but caused a rift in their own community.
I could on and on about the pricing structure, and how it's completely mishandled, but fact of the matter is I just no longer care about it. I just feel sorry for those who think they're getting great deals, when in fact those deals were available for everyone... and you didn't have to pay to have access to get the deals.
$5 a month and people expect the world.
@nathanuc1988 - It's not simply the $5 per month, it's that Europe pays the same $5 per month yet they seem to get better games.
And the 12 games last E3 built up everybody's expectations but they have since been summarily brought down.
And if you don't have a Vita it seems even worse now as you are paying for stuff you can't even use. If I ever get a Vita then maybe I'ld sign back up.
And it's not $5 per month, it's $17 for 3 months or $50 for the year. If it were a monthly subscription like Netflix or Hulu or Gamefly then maybe people would complain less as it would be easier to drop in and drop out.
And they keep changing what we are supposed to get - a retail game, avatars, automatic downloads - when's the last time somebody had something automatically downloaded?
@nathanuc1988 - I'm not expecting the world but I'm expecting to not get less than other people (Europe) when I pay for the same service.
Uh they're testing out what people in different regions want by giving away more than the cost if the service, so idk what y'all expect. And isn't it a bonus to not be charged at all for psn as opposed to xbox live? If you don't like what's offered, write Sony and then go buy your batman game at the store with your $50, I suppose. I'm super happy with both ps3 and vita free content in the US. I haven't even beaten gravity rush yet cause of everything else they've thrown at us. Just sayin : )
I feel spoiled by what I get for $50 a year.
I personally feel like I've gotten more than double my money's worth with PS Plus and will definitely be renewing my subscription. That doesn't mean I'm going to be happy with every single update. It's unreal to expect AAA titles every week but as Plus subscribers I feel it's our duty to give our feedback and let Sony know when we're happy with updates. They're testing out different games in different regions so how are they going to know what games we want if we don't speak up. That's why I make it a point to vote on the Plus update polls every week in the PS Blog.
Well, what the hell do I know? Apparently, I didn't have Mega Man 9 on PSN after all. I must be getting old or something...or I just have so many games that I can't even keep track of them.
@rjejr There's nothing stopping you from making a European account and paying the LESS than $5 a month (if you pay $50 a year). You have a choice to pick one or the other (or both). From what I notice, PS NA usually gets content first and it's also more distributed (small bits here and there instead of large chunks further apart). Anyone who feels cheated out of $50 for a years worth of plus content is clearly being stingy considering how much we DO get. Since launch until more recently, PS+ NA gave far far more content than PS+ EU did....
I've been happy with the plus service. I actually enjoy some of the free, smaller PSN titles (e.g. Rochard, Double Dragon Neon, Quantum Conundrum), because I have time to actually play through them all the way
Looking forward to trying out the new Mega Man games.
