Following the closure of previous developer Monumental Games, Milestone has announced that it’s taken the handlebars of the official MotoGP license, announcing MotoGP 13 for PlayStation 3 and Vita. The title's set to release at some point in June.
The Italian outfit promises to have “re-invented” the franchise, with new physics and re-designed visuals top of the list. A refreshed career mode will "bring players into the 2013 championship through the eyes of a real MotoGP rider" courtesy of an interesting blend of “third and first person elements”. Meanwhile, multiplayer will apparently “re-create exciting events”.
There’s an announcement trailer embedded below, but it doesn’t really reveal a whole lot to be honest. It’s set to be a busy year for Milestone, though, who is also working on the isometric PlayStation Network racer, WRC Powerslide.

I could never get into the MotoGP game series. Something about it just felt so goofy and the bikes handle like Superman 64.
I'd love to see Polyphony Digital make another motorcycle racing game :>
Worst trailer ever?! How about some footage with bikes in it. Radical idea I know.
At least they're making new Vita games. Sheesh
Could be good, I tend to enjoy these games depending on the level of ultra realism- it's quite easy to fall off the simulator cliff, like the last WRC game. If there are arcade like options, I'm all for it.
@charlesnarles I'm really glad they are making more games for Vita, don't get me wrong! I'm hoping they take a more realistic approach to the series.
@KALofKRYPTON: I race motorcycles in real life and can tell you it's far easier than it is in MotoGP 2010/2011 lol. I'm not sure why they made some of the design decisions they did with those physics... I think if they made the bikes handle more like REAL motorcycles, it would be a far more entertaining game AND more realistic at the same time. Win win!
