While the majority of THQ’s franchises found new homes yesterday, there’s still been no official word on the future of the WWE license. Early rumours suggested that EA had picked up the lucrative contract, but that’s been countered by an IGN report which claims that Take Two made a last minute bid for the series.
According to the site’s sources, the negotiations for the brand took place outside of the formal THQ auction. Take Two already spent approximately $10.9 million at the sale, nabbing the rights to Turtle Rock’s unannounced multiplayer shooter, Evolve. Neither company has commented on the status of the WWE license yet.

I will always remember THQ for their N64 wrestling games. There were easily the best wrestling games ever made.
I know people that HATED wrestling and still owned WCW/NWO Revenge,Wrestlemania 2000 and WWF No Mercy.
I still own WM 2000 and WWF No Mercy.

Same for me, as much as I enjoy Saints Row (it has surpassed GTA imo) those N64 wrestling games will be my fondest memories of THQ. I'm happy they at least finished on a high note with WWE 13.
Yep. I hate wrestling too, but have fond memories of Smackdown on PSone.
Smackdown Here Comes the Pain on PS2 was phenomenal as well.
