After a string of promises, Sony has cut the ribbon on the browser-based version of the North American PlayStation Store. The online plaza allows you to peruse and purchase PlayStation Network content without having to wait for the new console application to load. Just think what you could do with those extra 30 seconds – the possibilities are endless.
Sadly, the digital shopping centre doesn’t include automatic download functionality just yet, but the platform holder insists that the feature is in the pipeline. Given the company’s current trajectory, we’re sure that it will be patched in by at least 2045.
To access the webstore, point your browser through here.

This will stop complaints of PS+ users for not being able to get the free games every week. =3
This will be very useful on Tuesdays when they update the store. I always hated having to turn on my PS3 just to check if it had been updated yet.
No Linux support :-/
@ohhaime It's working for me on Ubuntu 12.10 and Google Chrome. What problems do you run into?
@nathanuc1988 I'm using Ubuntu also and it sends me to a "browser not supported" page in both Firefox and chrome. And judging by the comments on the playstation blog other people are getting the same thing.
1. open the Developer Tools (Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows/Linux)
2. Click the "settings" icon at the bottom right of the window
3. Check "override user agent" and select one of the options (IE9 is what mine is set to. I had changed this a long while back when the EU store was first opened and I forgot about it).
Thank the heavens - I DESPISE the store on the PS3 since the update and try to frequent it as little as possible.
I think it is awesome, and makes it a lot easier to browse the content, especially a lot faster!
This is great. Now I don't have to cut my PS3 on just to check the store. I can also download things while i'm at the library, and have them waiting when I get home.
