There’s life beyond the summer after all. Despite the majority of new video game releases being crammed into the opening six months of the year, Ubisoft has revealed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will don its night vision goggles on 20th August in North America. That’s mere months before the PlayStation 4 is rumoured to infiltrate store shelves.
The date was confirmed as part of a brand new trailer, which shows series protagonist Sam Fisher snapping necks and shooting people in the face. It also boasts some legacy footage of old presidential oaths to add an edgy tone. Do you solemnly swear to purchase the stealth shooter once it’s eventually deployed? Let us know in the comments section below.

August? Damnit! This is one my most anticipated games with GTA V, Tomb Raider and The Last of Us was hoping to get it a lot sooner. Oh well, I'll probably have a lot to get through anyway with those other games.
@Gamer83 It actually looks really good, this. Ubisoft seem to be on a roll at the moment. Far Cry 3's popularity has completely taken me by surprise, so I'm not willing to write off any of their games at the moment.
I think I'm one of the few SC fans who really enjoyed Conviction. This game looks to borrow elements from that as well as some of the older games so it's high on my list.
