Dante’s new haircut didn’t prove a hindrance on DmC: Devil May Cry’s ability to conquer the UK sales charts, as the controversial (but excellent) demon slayer shot straight to the summit of the region’s best sellers list, knocking FIFA 13 off the championship spot. Perhaps potential buyers were swayed by the patriotic Union Jack on the character’s new jacket.
Elsewhere, Far Cry 3 slipped into fourth, while Hitman: Absolution skulked off into eighth. Need for Speed: Most Wanted risked a parking ticket in fifth, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trudged back into ninth. As always, you can peruse the full breakdown of hot software through here. This game was made for UK and UK only... It's a shame when Dante has British Flag on his coat... Totally out of style.... but for UK =)...
@Gemuarto I must admit, playing the game, there is a British vibe to some of the scenes. Having said that, the Union Jack is closely associated with punk rock culture, which I suspect is what it's supposed to resemble here.
@get2sammyb Interesting point, but cite from Wikipedia:
"The following year saw punk rock spreading around the world, and it became a major cultural phenomenon in the United Kingdom."
I always thought that Britain was Mecca of punk rock... And DMC has some Neil Gaiman vibe too =). Who is happened to be UK writer =).
I can't put down DmC... the combat is just so fluid and addictive! I wish it had a deeper story and longer campaign but man did it earn that top spot!
