One of the best things about Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time – as evidenced in our recent preview – is the title’s constant desire for variety. The campaign is practically bursting with different gameplay mechanics, and you’ll be able to sample some of those for yourself courtesy of a new cross-platform application launching on the North American PlayStation Store later today.
Brilliantly dubbed Bentley’s Hackpack, the cheap and cheerful download pledges access to three of the full release’s hacking mini-games. That includes an isometric shooter, a side-scrolling shooter, and a Marble Madness-esque puzzle game.
You’ll be able to download the application for free, but you’ll be limited to just nine levels that way. Alternatively, you’ll be able to purchase the full thing for $2.99. It’s unclear whether the download includes any additional content or Trophies, so you may want to hold fire for more information before you pick it up. All of the mini-games are playable in the full version of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, after all.
Speaking of which, the platformer’s due out today on PlayStation 3 and Vita in North America. You’ll be able to nab both versions for just $39.99. Our review is sitting in the database, but due to the late European release date, we can’t publish it until 20th March. Perhaps the launch trailer embedded below will help to make up your mind.

I like variety but it almost got to be a little too much in the demo. Though I've felt this way since Sly Cooper 2. As much as I loved sneaking around as Sly I never got into the other characters. It was like Sonic Adventure 2 all over again.
I'll DL for free. And I'll probably even play Thieves in Time once it hits $19.99. No rush.
@Savino I wish I could tell you more...
Demo is awesome....
My copy is supposed to come next week. I wish I could play it right now.
The Target I work at couldnt locate any copies of the main game for me today. For $2.99, I'm getting the Hackpack. It's so cheap!
