Battlefield 4 could have Sony’s hotly anticipated PlayStation Meeting in its sights, if a series of teasing Tweets are to be believed. GameStop gaffer Paul Raines started the speculation overnight, announcing that he’d been privy to a behind-the-scenes demo of the upcoming first-person shooter.
“Got to see Battlefield 4 today and all I can say is ‘wow’. Thanks EA for the sneak peek. Can’t wait for you all to see it,” he beamed. EA later retweeted the message, indicating that an announcement could be on the horizon.
Origin Insider, a technical support account for the publisher’s online store, added: “Battlefield 4 is coming. Celebrate with a big Battlefield 3 sale.”
While it’s far from a confirmation, the timing of the Tweets is particularly suspicious. We’re now less than 12 hours away from the announcement of PlayStation’s next generation console, and Battlefield 4 would certainly be a big title for Sony to have on display.
It’s also worth remembering that the platform holder partnered with Battlefield 3 to secure timed exclusive DLC. We wouldn’t be surprised if it has a similar contract in place for the shooter’s sequel, especially with Microsoft presumably taking control of Call of Duty again.

This is one game series that really belongs on the PC, as it just doesn't work as well on a console, but any news for BF4 is good news. Maybe it will convince me to move up from Bad Company 2.
So is this basically turning into Sony's own personal E3?
