Urgh, we can’t take anymore. Ever since Sony revealed its surprise PlayStation Meeting at the start of the month, we’ve been awash with rumours and speculation. But now that the 20th February is actually nearing, it’s all becoming too much to handle. And videos like the one embedded below aren’t helping our hype levels.
Quietly deployed on the platform holder’s YouTube channel earlier this evening, the trailer takes a look back at the origins of the PlayStation brand. It includes footage of classic PSone advertisements, and highlights some of the system’s defining moments. Who could forget this classic Crash Bandicoot commercial?
The snippet concludes with the hashtag ‘PlayStation 2013’. We’re off for a long lie down, but feel free to share your favourite PSone memories in the comments section while we get our breath back.

My favourite PSone moment:
Sony are generating some sweet hype here, things are getting tense.
@get2sammyb I remember that well! I always liked the dinosaur better though. Probably because I was a massive Jurassic.Park fan when I was a kid. Now that I think about it, those demos probably took up way too much of my youth.

The Crash bandicoot,Spyro games and rescue shot(my first game)will always have a special place in my heart.
Dear Microsoft and Nintendo: Don’t worry cleaning the po.o from your pants, there’s a lot more coming out of your bu.tt in the next week.
I think my head might explode from anticipation begore the 20th lol One of my fondest memories of the PSX was rushing round to my friends after school with my controller, plugging in the multitap n going gung-ho doing 4 player spli-screen deathmatches on Quake2! Team buddies was another multiplayer gem I adored back then
Hurry and get here Feb 20th.
I still love the crash and jet moto commercials, they are what sold me on PlayStation back than
Can't wait till Wednesday!!
Boy, does that bring back memories. All those hours spent playing Spyro and Tomba.
But man I don't know whats worse, the hype or the nostalgia.
I said "yeah!" when Twisted Metal 2 came on. Never played it before I decided to dowload it on the PS Store but it was a fantastic decision. That game is so fun and always will have a place in my heart.
I can't waaaaiitttt.
Should I take a leave at February 20th?
Weird they didn't show Final fantasy 7 in that video
Yeah, Sony's done a tremendous job building hype for the 20th... My favorite PlayStation memory from back in the day was the first time I picked up the controller at a KB Toys in the local mall. The PSone had just launched and on display was the demo for Twisted Metal. I couldn't put the controller down. I was still young at the time, only 12, so it was a very different experience for me at the time having grown up used to sidescrolling adventures and mostly kid friendly mascot games from Nintendo and Sega.
Good idea this video countdown, i assume we will get a video for PS2 era tomorrow or monday.
I totally like this nostalgic "let's get back to where it all started" as introduction to the 20th feb.
I was about 4 when the PS1 launched, but I have fond memories of days of my life being spent in front of a television with a controller in my hand. I still remember the day I came home from school, and saw that my dad had bought it. At the time I had no idea what a Playstation was, all we had was a Sega Genesis 3 and a couple of my friends had N64's.
Regardless, the second I started playing it, my entire life was changed from that point on. I've owned every PlayStation from 1 right down to 3, and I will not rest until I own the PS4. Sony is doing a great job building hype, especially now that they've started using nostalgia against us. I really hope they blow our minds on the 20th.
I bought a PlayStation when the Dualshock model came out. So many demo discs kept me entertained for ages till I got a full game.
@davitpr Dear davitpr, fanboyism makes you seem like a four year old. Grow up.
@ everybody else: awful, awful music in this video, kinda spoiled it for me.
