Strong sales for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 boosted the PlayStation Vita back up the Japanese hardware charts this week. While the system was still handily outsold by the Nintendo 3DS, the portable’s tally surged from 36,028 units to 41,073 units. The aforementioned Namco Bandai brawler sold 60,315 units on the handheld, and a further 274,625 units on the PlayStation 3.
In truth, it was a strong week for all of the PlayStation platforms, with PS3, PSP, and Vita content occupying a good chunk of the software charts. Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2013 settled in third and fourth on the PS3 and PSP respectively, while Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland debuted in tenth on the Vita.
Sadly, the release schedule for Sony’s most recent portable is starting to look a little bit barren again in its home region. Let’s hope that its numbers will settle at a more sustainable figure while it waits for another wave of software.

small typo on the subtitle there
This is still good news. Keep snatching up that Vita everyone.
@Squiggle55 Typo? Where? (Thanks for the catch.)
such as shame Namco Bandai are NOT releasing the Vita version over here i think it would help sales and i definitely would have brought both versions
I'm still waiting the 1st one to have a massive price drop or something.
I may be a HUGE fan of One Piece but 40-60 bucks for a game for me its kinda a heart attack O_O
@Epic are you in america if so i wouldn't expect a price cut any time soon you might be netter off importing the UK version as they are region free and we got a physical release over here were as america only had a digital one
Nice hardware numbers again for the Vita. Really good to see 5 PSV titles in the top 20. Hoping the publishing firms are taking notice. I wonder if PSV version off "Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2013", is alot better in psp version.
more sales will come once they port this game to u.s. (PSVITA users)
These numbers for PSVITA and 3DS proves that handheld gaming is along way from dead.
That sucks that we wont get this game here in the west. I really enjoyed the first one on the ps3.
@LigerZeroN We are getting the PS3 version of Pirate Warriors 2 in August but there has been no news of the vita version coming west yet. I am really looking forward to it. Looks better than the first game in every way.
@GRIFFEN14 we ain't getting the Vita version at all i asked the official Namco Bandai EU on Twitter it's just the PS3 version a physical release in the EU and UK and a digital only in the US
@Majin-Naruto Darn. It would be a fun game for vita to keep you coming back to it. Will still enjoy it on ps3 though.
