FIFA 14 will kick off on the PlayStation 4 later this year – and it will be powered by a brand new engine named Ignite. The first footage of this was showcased during Microsoft’s big Xbox One reveal yesterday, but EA Sports has since confirmed that the demo reel applies to Sony’s next generation system as well. We’ve included the video in the space below.
The new technology will bring a number of improvements to the annual soccer simulation – in addition to many of EA Sports’ games – including improved animation, “human-like intelligence”, and even more accurate environments. Sadly, the engine will not be compatible with the PlayStation 3 version of the title.

What interested me was the mention of '3D crowds' thanks to this new engine. So no more rows of sprite people? Finally? That's pretty big news.
Although I wish we'd have been shown some gameplay... But we can imagine it really can't we?
"Sadly, the engine will not be compatible with the PlayStation 3 version of the title." Oh crap, I didn't see this. This is basically saying the PS3 version is going to be FIFA 13 with new team rosters.
Madden 25 is gonna be sick... I remember playing madden 07 on both PS2 and PS3 and I was blown away by the PS3 version. I hope I get the same reaction this time around.. And yea I'm with you on the crowds. I don't know why but its always bugged me...
