DriveClub may not be the only team-based racing game on the horizon, as Driver: San Francisco developer Ubisoft Reflections is reportedly working on a brand new vehicular property for the PlayStation 4 (and possibly the PlayStation 3) named The Crew. According to the original report by the Examiner, the game is being pitched as a competitor to Gran Turismo, but the source has since updated claiming that it will be “something different” instead. A reveal at E3 is supposedly on the cards.
Eurogamer.net hypothesises that the title may be a collaboration between the Newcastle-based outfit and Ivory Tower, the studio formed out of the ashes of Test Drive Unlimited developer Eden Games. Its own in-development racer was outed earlier in the year, and the team’s believed to have secured a publishing arrangement with the French firm. With Ubisoft Reflections also working on Watch Dogs, a partnership may make sense.
For now, though, a spokesperson for Ubisoft has said that it doesn’t comment on rumour and speculation. We’re sure that it’ll change its tune in a couple of weeks.

Driver is a great series. Less GTA, more GT? I'm in!
