Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 developer MercurySteam’s clearly been spending too much time with Hideo Kojima. This brand new video – revealed during Konami’s pre-recorded E3 press conference moments ago – is less a trailer and more an epic. The six minute showcase features a bit of everything: monologues, monsters, and fatal foreplay sessions.
According to the Spanish studio, the game will boast an open world component set in the modern day. While the majority of the campaign will take place in Dracula’s castle, you’ll also be able to explore the city glimpsed during the previous title’s puzzling conclusion. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?
The game’s due out this winter on the PlayStation 3. We were rather fond of the last instalment, so we’re looking forward to sinking our teeth into this.

I still have yet to play the first one, but I like the idea of having an open-world component in Castlevania, especially since it's in a modern day city. Most of it, anyway.
great looking forward to this, been a Castlevania fan since the NES
but i wonder if they will include some kind of back story for those people who don't have a 3DS to play Mirror of Fate? (of course they could also release it on Vita but that wont happen)
So stinking cool...Very excited about this one.
@FullbringIchigo Mirror of Fate eventually will be released on Vita or HD consoles. Almost no one buys these kind of games on 3DS, the same think happened with Resident Evil Revelations. As far as Lords of Shadow are concerned I enjoyed both the first game and MOF but I don't want the Castlevania series to become God of War clones, I very much preferred IGA's games.
I hope Konami release a Collection or something with Lord of Shadow 1 + All DLC and Mirror of Fate HD in.
@belmont well i hope it is [mirror of fate] released on other systems because it is fun but the game just isn't suited to the 3DS control system
and i do agree with you the games are loads of fun but i do miss the old style of Castlevania games (Super Castlevania IV being my all time favourite), still i do hope this series continues
