Those of you caught off guard by this week’s fatal PlayStation 3 firmware update may be pleased to learn that a fix is on the way. A post on Sony’s official community forums explains that the company has found the issue with v4.45, and will deploy a solution on 27th June. Some users complained that the software refresh caused the XMB to crash, prompting the platform holder to pull the patch.
Should anything go wrong, the firm’s promising to share further updates in the same forum thread, so you may want to add it to your bookmarks temporarily just in case. We’re sure that everything will be smooth sailing this time, though.

I wonder how widespread this issue is. I haven't had any issues, and I feel like if it was common there would be more of a commotion about it. Though for all I know, I could be in the minority.
It was removed before I even logged in that day.
@hamispink It's a pretty isolated incident, but it isn't stopping the Xbox fanboys from jumping all over it.
@TheRealBatman Yea it's been like this ever since MS changed their policies. One of my friends was like "Sony is crumbling as we know it now!" -____-.
@acdramon I love how they're using the current gen to decide how the next gen will go. Back before MS changed their policies, Xbox fans kept bringing up the hack and saying that the same thing would happen to the PS4.
I'll update mine after you update yours
@TheRealBatman Love a guy answering a Xbox fanboy with: I just wish there was a update, that could have fix my 2 RROD Xbox's.
4.45 brick seem to only hit ppl with HDD bigger than 500GB.
