Multiformat publications tend to sit on the fence for obvious reasons, but popular British magazine EDGE has pulled no punches with its latest issue. The next generation special runs with the headline, “This is your next console,” and includes a picture of the PlayStation 4 hardware. It continues that Sony’s system is the “only option right now” and boasts a report on Xbox One’s “road to ruin”. It’s not entirely clear whether the content was written before Microsoft changed its stance on DRM.
Outside of the console-focused features, the magazine also includes previews for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Tom Clancy's The Division, Final Fantasy XV, and numerous other games from E3. You can find out how to purchase the issue through here. We daresay that the folks at Sony Computer Entertainment will be framing their copies as we type.

Previous issues of Edge are also available, including the "Nintendo's Resurrection" Gamecube issue, and the "Sega is dead. Long live Dreamcast" issue.
Gotta love 'em.
@SuperKMx There was also a recent one about the Ouya...
@get2sammyb Indeed. Their track record isn't all that great, to be honest.
Going to pick it up on Thursday since I love edge, But doesn't that Cover show why most magazine style publications for technology is on the way out.
Plus the Playstation meeting covered looked great.
People were in an uproar about how EDGE has apparently always been pro-Sony. Baffles my mind.
To be honest this is pretty appalling. Whether the entire staff at Edge want the PS4 personally or whatever they should not be putting such a statement on the cover. They're meant to be impartial.
It's supposed to be a neutral magazine. If they want to make massive articles about how Sony is better than the competition, become a Sony magazine. You are just alienating the Microsoft (And to a lesser extent Nintendo) fans.
I don't know why people are mad at Edge, Sony is kicking Microsofts butt. Xbox One has received nothing but bad press even before it was announced. The only reason they changed their policies was because Sony had their foot up their @$$, so who do you think is winning? the only reason Microsoft stopped charging devs for patches is because of Sony also. I think Sony should take this generation hands down and i just don't see why anyone would want a xbox one, but it's your money, waste it as you please.
@ajay708 Edge are meant to be impartial. Is that too hard for you to understand? Nobody is saying that Microsoft haven't messed up, they're saying this magazine which should have no blatant favourites now does. Try thinking about what we're saying before having a fanboy rant.
@rastamadeus There's nothing to be impartial about. if anything they would be being impartial saying xbox one actually stood a chance. But I agree there are those who will still buy an Xbox even though Microsoft tried to pull a fast one on you.
@ajay708 You really don't understand how an all-console magazine works, do you? They CAN NOT say what they have on the cover. It's disgraceful. If they'd said the Xbox One was "your next console" almost everybody on here would be having a massive period over it. Also, how do you know Xbox One doesn't stand a chance? Are you psychic? Or are you just blatantly ignoring that Microsoft still has exclusive COD DLC and now FIFA content too, things that will make Joe Public favour the console over the PS4 no matter how better Sony's machine looks? I still expect Xbox One to do at least similar to what PS4 does this gen and wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it sells more.
"They CAN NOT say what they have on the cover." Well obviously they just did.
"Also, how do you know Xbox One doesn't stand a chance? Are you psychic? " Yes I am actually, what tipped you off?
Also the FiFa deal holds no weight because Europe is not too hot on the Kinect and sees it as more of a monitoring device.
Yeah, this is a bit insulting to those who favor other consoles, not a good business decision by an all format publication.
Being impartial doesn't mean they have to pretend all consoles are equal - it just means they have to give each console an equal chance. They're simply telling the truth as they see it, which I personally don't see anything wrong with.
Still, that's a bold claim Edge.
@Mormagil I agree, I love how everyone is saying they cant do this or that. Its there opinion, they are the professionals. Obviously they dont understand journalism. Why do they even bother reviewing multiplatform games if there not allowed to be critical of there limitations. I salute edge.
