GamesCom 2013: PlayStation 4 Cultivates a Fresh Flower Port

It looks like thatgamecompany’s brilliant flower is set to sow its seeds on more than just the PlayStation Vita this year, as Sony’s list of upcoming PlayStation 4 software has confirmed that the critical darling is set to bloom on the next generation console, too. Details are scarce, but you can expect the additional processing power of the souped up system to really bring the colourful exclusive to life.

The port’s due out before the end of the year, alongside 18 other digital downloads. Some of those releases include Basement Crawl, Minecraft, and PlanetSide 2. These are all in addition to the 15 retail titles confirmed overnight, culminating in a launch window lineup that’s 33 games strong. A further 180 projects are in production for the platform, with a whopping 620 studios now registered to work on the machine. Pretty big numbers all around, then.

Do you think they'll add in touch controls? It wouldn't be quite the same experience but it might make it easier for new players.

Im glad the PS3 is getting Minecraft.

Was Knack shown yesterday? Cerny came on stage so I thought he'ld cover his own game but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. (Not that it would be on this digital list, it just popped into my head.)

@get2sammyb - Yeah I somehow missed the trailer you posted yesterday, gonna go watch it now - thanks for the page 2 heads up - but I did mean during the show. Seems weird but I guess they have to maximize their time.

I wasn't too impressed with Flower the first time (although I do recognize it's creativity as something different). I don't know how well this would do a second time as a PS4 port.

Oh, and I'm really excited about Warframe and Minecraft. I'll give Planetside a go, too!

Warframe and Contrast are the tw that interest me. May check out Planetsdide.and Blacklight: Retribution. Minecraft will be for Vita.

Already having a lot of fun with War Thunder on PC so I will be slapping that on the PS4 . And I'm really looking forward to Contrast.

I'm looking forward to Warframe the most. Glad to have that one at launch, at no additional cost too. Unless one of the other launch digital titles cathes my eye, I think I will just be enjoying Warframe and the free PS Plus titles I get at launch. Edit: War Thunder just caught my eye, looks great. I will probably be giving that one a download too.
