PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale may be deader than Sir Daniel Fortesque, but that’s not stopping Sony from partnering with Coca-Cola for PlayStation All-Stars Island – a co-marketing endeavour between the platform holder and the soft drinks giant for iOS and Android devices. Yes, you read that correctly.
The game – which is out now – is the handiwork of mobile developer Zoink Games, and consists of a series of score-based mini-adventures featuring some of PlayStation’s most popular protagonists. There’s a LittleBigPlanet Karting-themed minigame, an Uncharted timewaster, and even cameos from inFAMOUS’ supercharged star Cole MacGrath and Gravity Rush’s topsy-turvy heroine Kat.
The aim of the title is to – wait for it – collect Coke Zero orbs in order to unlock special moves. You can download the game by scanning the QR code on the label of participating drinks bottles. We’re not making any of this up. Don’t believe us? Check out the screenshots of the actual release embedded below.
Update: If you don't want to bother with pesky QR codes, you can download the app for iOS and Android via these handy links.

I'd rather play Cool Spot for the Genesis. That game was fun.
I have no problem with advertising, marketing or merchandising, I really want to make that clear. But, this feels like the worst cash in for the sake of cashing in I've seen in a while.
I've added in download links for the game now.
@fchinaski oooh MAN! I loved that game so much as a kid! I still play it on my tablet from time to time
PSASBR mixing w/ Coke ZERO seems like a good fit.
And I think these endevaours are a good source of marketing for the brand, any brand, and really dont see why Nintendo is so adamant about releasing any of their IP on a phone or tablet. Is a Dr. Mario (Tetris clone FYI) or Kirby pinball app really going to hurt sales of Return to Dreamland 2 or Mario Galaxy 3?
Sammy, that link worked, but it said the app wasnt available in my region. Im in the US on a Samgsung Galaxy Tab 2 7".
@rjejr As Iwata himself would say: "Please understand":

@rjejr Looks like it locks out all US devices. My Droid Bionic and Xperia Tablet Z are both listed as incompatible. You'd need to find a direct download and side load it if you wanted to play this in the US it seems.
@rjejr Try searching for it - that link may be UK based.
I've got no problem with the cross promotion per se, but it just seems a little… late! The game has been out for the best part of a year. And it flopped. Why do this now?
@RawShark It's weird that they're using the PlayStation All-Stars branding, but this has nothing to do with that game. This feels like more of an effort to promote Sackboy, Nathan Drake, Kat, and Cole - which Sony clearly considers its "mascot" characters at this point.
Interesting questions: does this mean that Sony has big plans for Kat? Is Cole going to cameo in inFAMOUS: Second Son (it's looking more likely)? Where's Kratos?
Hey it's free so I don't mind. I'll give it a try. I don't think can do a kratos mini game without him ripping someone's head off.
@get2sammyb yeah that makes sense - the lead up to the PS4 after all. Maybe we were too quick to write off the All Stars brand after all? (Probably not).
I hope we see more of Kat as a mascot - I adored Gravity Rush. But as for Kratos... GOW3 spoiler alert! He died. I think. He might have lived long enough to get into the Mortal Kombat reboot, but then he probably died in that too.
I tried searching Google Play for Coke Zero and Playstation All Stars and couldn't find this, but I did find some Lucy Pinder wallpapers so I probably came out ahead. Ild never heard of her before but some of the Brits may know her.
This better mean that I can play as a can of Coke Zero if there's future DLC or a sequel.
@rjejr Haha. I've just found out that this is a European promotion, so it won't be released in North America.
@RawShark To be fair, er, Cole MacGrath's dead, too.
@get2sammyb - "To be fair, er, Cole MacGrath's dead, too."
Cole McGrath is not dead, he's become The Beast and he's leading an army of conduits and taking over the world.
@fchinaski
agreed . a platfomer about the "dot" between "7" and "Up" (who would have thought ?)
