NetherRealm Studios’ slick superhero smash up Injustice: Gods Among Us has landed an uppercut on Sony’s previously announced PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 upgrade plan, reports Eurogamer.net. The system – already confirmed for titles such as Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts – will allow you to buy any listed title for your existing console, and advance to its next generation counterpart for a deeply discounted fee.
The original article doesn’t make it clear, but we’re guessing that this limited time upgrade path only applies to the recently announced Ultimate Edition of the DC Universe dustup. In order to take advantage of it, you’ll need to redeem a code included in the game’s box, which original copies didn’t come with. Alternatively, if you purchase the title digitally – again, we’re assuming the upcoming complete collection – then the PlayStation Network will figure out the rest.
The next generation version of the critically acclaimed fighter is being developed by The Conduit developer High Voltage. Meanwhile, a PlayStation Vita version is in production at Armature Studio. Are you planning to double, triple, or quadruple dip on this title? Toss a batarang in the comments section below.

I have the Retail special edition on PS3 that I bought on the release date. In the package there was a voucher code for the New 52 costumes. So in PSN they sort of "know" I have the retail version of the game. Does this gives me the PS4 version discount? I think the publisher should release more details on this. They may do it in the coming days though.
I will still buy the Vita version if it is reasonably priced. I like the game very much and the port seems good.
Triple dipping, for possibly the first time ever. Don't care though, the game is worth it.
@belmont I don't think it will, no.
Might have to look into this game now!
Not without a cross-buy option.
I have this game for the Wii U but will I will be trading that in for the PS4 version.
