We try to shy away from direct console comparisons as much as possible here on Push Square, but there is a storm brewing around the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Despite both releases boasting some significant visual upgrades, reports suggest that the enhanced iteration on Sony’s console runs much better than its counterpart on Microsoft’s machine. So what’s going on?
Well, the intrepid adventurers over at Family Gamer TV have put together a full analysis to find out. In addition to major performance differences – which see the PS4 version’s framerate sitting at around 60 frames-per-second compared to the Xbox One’s capped 30 frames-per-second – the embedded video argues that features such as the DualShock 4’s light bar really help to add to the immersion of the game. "Whole Lara love" Nice zeppelin reference.
I'm still playing the ps3 version and i 'm happy with that
might get this version when it's a little cheaper though
That Vita. I gottta get me one. Here's hoping for another price drop after tomorrows announcement. Then I too can play TR:DE and my other PS4 titles via remote play.
My ps4 version should arrive tomorrow and I only played through the xbox 360 version before so I am hoping it is a nice improvement but from what I have seen and read so far I don't think I will be disappointed
@ReigningSemtex
It's a good step up from a visual perspective. I'm not really sure videos do it justice.
