Final Fantasy Fave Lightning Gets Mucky with Lara Croft Costume

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII star, er, Lightning is quickly becoming the digital double of Jessica Nigri. Not content with cosplaying as Cloud Strife – among a slew of other characters – Square Enix has now confirmed that the pink haired protagonist will be stepping into the tank top of Tomb Raider lead Lara Croft as part of a special day one DLC pack.

The video embedded below shows the heroine doing her best Camilla Luddington impression, all while being equipped with a survivor’s axe, riot shield, and more mud than the Britannia Stadium. The content will be available to download next week. Personally, we’re looking forward to the character’s inevitable Kane & Lynch kit.

OMG, this is so stupid. I am crying because of what they did with Final Fantasy. Why do they think that people need that crap. It is so niche.... it looks almost perverted =(. They need to call it Perverted Fantasy.

@Gemuarto Oh calm down. Final Fantasy has had much more skimpy outfits than this. These sort of DLCs go down well in Japan and if Squeenix don't release them here people complain, when they do people complain. People just love to complain.

@rastamadeus I'm not complaining about outfit, I am complaining about that Final Fantasy have become niche game for nerds and perverts. No offence to nerds and perverts. I want old normal Final Fantasy back.

@Gemuarto It hasn't really. Final Fantasy 13 is probably the most niche one, but it hasn't "become" that. 15 looks as far from that as possible.

@Gemuarto Final Fantasy XIII sold over 7 million physical copies and Final Fantasy XIII-2 sold over 3 million copies. It's far from niche.

@moomoo So big drop in sales, man. And FFXIII-3 will have even worse sales.

@Cloud7794 FFXIII is the most normal Final Fantasy out of 3. Yeah, I hope FFXV will return FF back on track =).

If part of what you consider getting the series back on track is turn-based gameplay rather than an action-RPG, you're going to be pretty disappointed with XV unfortunately. I'm under the impression it's going to be a lot like Kingdom Hearts in the gameplay department.
