Unlike the current Manchester United team, FIFA 14 has managed to make a not-so-dramatic comeback to reclaim its position at the top of the UK sales charts. The soccer simulation – alongside first-person shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts – managed to topple last week’s frontrunner Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, which dropped all the way down into fourth.
With very few new releases last week, familiar faces rounded out the rest of the list. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, for example, stayed put in fifth, while Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield 4 fleshed out sixth and seventh respectively. Killzone: Shadow Fall continued to sell exceptionally well in ninth, one spot above Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in tenth.
Admittedly, this has been a tedious couple of months for British best-sellers, but things are set to get spicier soon as the release calendar begins to hot up again. Sad that vita title never goes to top 10... Well at least until April there are many title to come
The saddest thing for me about FIFA 14 (and I later found out that it's not the game's fault at all) is that my family or friends always used to get together for 3 vs 3 match days (and nights). Believe me when I say that these are real cornerstone social gatherings. You can imagine how it went down at the last one when I proudly bring out the shiny new ps4. Expectations were high and people were even asking whether with all the extra power if it could even handle 4 vs 4. Instead I found out in front of everyone that you can only connect 4 controllers which is a real shame. I don't know whether other game systems still do 3 vs 3 but for the moment it's back to the ps3 for us.
