We like to debate a lot of topics here at Push Square towers, but whether Final Fantasy XV will actually ever release is a particularly popular one. Still, while director Tetsuya Nomura has likened the PlayStation 4 title’s production to “climbing a mountain”, we can happily report that the soundtrack is at the very least making progress.
Over in Japan, publisher Square Enix is preparing to deploy an album based on the works of legendary composer Yoko Shimomura. While this will focus on many of the luminary’s earlier pieces – including timeless tracks heard in Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Mana, and many more – it will also include a tune from the company’s oft-delayed next-gen role-playing game.
Elaborately dubbed ‘Omnis Lacrima’, this is supposedly the haunting song used in last year’s E3 trailer. Expect lots of stirring strings and driving drums, then. You’ll be able to hear the full thing for yourself when the CD is released on 26th March for ¥3,000 ($29). In the meantime, you can listen to some samples through here.

Ever-so-slightly reminiscent of GR, with crazy tumbling and purple warp move. I like the premise too. Looks wonderful.
I love Final Fantasy and am really looking forward to it. The FMVs look awesome, like they should on a next/current gen game, but it looked clunky going into gameplay, like it was previous gen. I hope they can polish it so that it feels like it blurs the line switching between FMV and gameplay.
That trailer still gives me chills.
Dang I gotta stop watching the trailers for this game. Makes me want to play it like RIGHT NOW. Square Enix is really gonna bring themselves to the forefront as a major player with this one... Bravely Default was good. Tomb Raider was good. Deus Ex Human Revolution was good. But this? This is on another level here... This is why I bought a Playstation 4, and it can't come soon enough!
