In a recent leak acquired by Kotaku, the publication unsheathed an assortment of details about Assassin's Creed: Unity – a next-gen exclusive title set in the French Revolution. A couple of days later, Ubisoft confirmed that the rumours were indeed true, and uploaded a short cinematic trailer of the game. In another surprising reveal, it looks like details of another Assassin's Creed project codenamed Comet have been compiled by French website GameBlog.
Translated by a user on Reddit, the purported PlayStation 3 title will supposedly be set around 1758 in North America – specifically in New York. You'll be playing as Shay, who is said to be a Templar that becomes the captain of a ship. This means that you may be exploring the Atlantic Ocean quite often, continuing the popular nautical focus of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
There are other kinds of speculation surrounding the plot, but all of this remains rumour for now. Even still, what do you think about the possible premise for this Assassin's Creed title? Do you want to travel back to Colonial America and pilot more naval ships out on treacherous waters? Take a Leap of Faith into the comments below and let us know.

I want both. Hopefully Ubisoft will have some kind of package deal. If I could get 50% off Comet with Unity, or even better, if an improved version of Comet came in a bundle with Unity on PS4 that would be great.
Hrm...the naval exploration was rather excessive in BF. The amount of land compared to water was absurdly one-sided and the amount of restricted areas and brigs I encountered were obscene. Oh well.
Unless they bring Comet to the PS4 as well, I am done with the franchise. There is no reason for a new game to support only last gen when its predecessor supported both!
Not so much interested in unity, the setting doesn't do it for me.. I could be wrong but as of now im more so interested in comet.
Ugh if they want to do a ship combat game why don't they just make a new franchise instead of slapping the AC name on it to trick people into buying it?
I will need to see Gameplay/Story before I can decided
@thedevilsjester Personally I am thrilled that they are splitting the games across the gens, rather than making another cross-gen title. It should let them really try and ramp things up in Unity (not just graphics) in ways that are not possible on a cross-gen release.
As for Comet, it also makes sense to make a game for 160 million people who own a 7th gen console.
So, this is a great decision. I just hope the games are innovative, and not just the same thing. Time will tell.
@Ginkgo I think its probably the worst move they could do. I don't care that its on the PS3/360 with a 160 million user base, I care that unlike its predecessor its not getting a port to the current generation consoles. Its a step backwards.
