Double Fine has announced a tasty treat in the shape of Costume Quest 2, we trick you not. Due out this Hallowe’en courtesy of publisher Midnight City, the follow-up will represent the studio’s first ever numbered sequel. While details are scarce right now, the humorous teaser trailer embedded below details the fictional pitching process.
First released way back in 2010, we adored the original sugary escapade, describing it as a “good, fun, whimsical experience”. While the title was first published by THQ, the studio actually bought back the rights to the brand following the aforementioned firm’s demise. It’s not yet clear which systems the sequel will arrive on, but the PlayStation 4 seems almost certain.
Are you going to spend the next seven months banging at the developer’s door for more details, or are you not a fan of dressing up? Get sick on candy corn in the comments section below.

Nice video, but I think I'm watching too much reality tv b/c I kept looking for Richard and Aaron.
First game was pretty good but a little slow at times, especially when not knowing what to do next or where to go, which I know is these guys trademark based on Psychonauts and that Stacking game. But I'm guessing the sequel will be better than the 1st, so this game should be really good.
I hope one day we get a Fat Princess 2 (3 if you count FFOC) with 32 vs 32 multiplayer.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I just hope for PS4, PS Vita and PS3 (at less PS3) release.
This better come out for any of the following systems PS3, Wii U, 3DS, Vita because I'm not getting a PS4.
I wish some other Amnesia Fortnight winning games would get further development, finished up, and released. Like, The White Birch, Black Lake, etc..
I'm really super stoked about this. You aren't going to find Costume Quest on many people's best ever lists. But it's on mine. Playing it made me happy. Like playing Earthbound. It just captures a feeling and it makes me happy.
