Sony’s already attempted to emulate Super Smash Bros.’ success with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, but what if it borrowed a few ideas from Mario Kart, too? Between the likes of Crash Team Racing and ModNation Racers, the platform holder’s certainly deployed plenty of arcade driving titles over the years – but it’s yet to dispatch one with a cast consisting solely of famous faces.
Fortunately, artists Max and Leonardo have drawn up a concept piece depicting what a hypothetical PlayStation All-Stars Racing would look like, with everyone from PaRappa the Rapper to Galahad pictured in the pitch. The more that we admire the vehicle variety, the more that we wish that this was actually a thing. Someone get Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida on the blower.

I want this to be real.
Cough cough wipeout cough.
Love it. Well, except for Knack - leave him out. But love the rest.
@RawShark Harsh! Haha, I actually really like Knack's car. My favourite is probably Toro and Kuro on Robbit. Gah, I really wished this was real now.
Holy crap, make this game!
I don't see Mario Kart in those pics, all I see are Wacky Races. I think I can even name a few of them.
Bonus fact - Wacky Races had a PS2 game.
Sony Please make this real this would be awesome also make All-Stars 2 please
I would buy it DAY 1 + Loved All-Stars to, it was one of my favorite fighting games of all time(the other 1 being 'Tekken 3' on the PS1) Didn't like any other 1s only because i am not a massive fighting fan really + Loved good old Crash Team Racing on the PS1 to + the recent Kart game LBP:Kart was FUN&COOL;)
@rjejr I always wanted that Wacky Races game. It's one of those ones that I never got, but always stared longingly at the box.
@rjejt and @get2sammyb And on the Dreamcast too. Used to enjoy it quite a bit, nothing amazing but was decent. Problem is Mario Kart Double Dash!! came out two or three months after I got it and it was then never touched again.
Nothing compares to Mario Kart. The only racing game that's come close is Sonic & All Stars. If Sony very closely copies the mechanics of Mario Kart then it could be good, but then they'd catch a lot of flack for copying again.
Sony has the strongest racing library of any other console-maker.
But I'd still rather have All-Stars 2.
Where is The legend of Dragoon cart ?
I want this game so bad.
@get2sammyb - "but always stared longingly at the box."
So, you didn't buy it b/c the box was the wrong size/color for your shelf
Didn't' have the game but loved the show as a kid, and it's sequel spin-off, which also needs a game:
This is more like the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series than Mario Kart. While I want this to happened I really don't because the PSASBR community were horrible, it got word of the mouth due to nintendorks bashing it and the missing characters like Crash, Spyro, Snake, Lara, Cloud put off a lot of people who were looking forward to it. And since PSASBR flopped, I doubt Sony were bother with a racing version not to mention that both ModNation & LBP Racing flopped.
Playstation All Stars was a decent game, pretty disappointing and a little too copycat of smash bros, as I never understood why that game was made as a 2-D fighter, I mean when the first Playstation came around, one of it's main slogans was the full 3-D experiences it offered, they should've made it a 3-D fighter like Power Stone or the God of War Ascension MP and the roster could've used way more love from Sony themselves, it's as if they forgot they had Wild Arms, The Legend of Dragoon or Team Ico, hopefully they will return to the idea, but with more originality.
I keep waiting for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale to hit PS+. It is bound to happen before long.
@RawShark was that necessary?
I'm going to be a realist this would most likely pale in comparison to the almighty Mario Kart.
@Shellybird27 Just to clarify, I wasn't ragging on the Kart design. Nothing wrong with that. I just don't think Knack is a strong enough character to warrant further appearances in any more games. But then I felt the same way about Nariko, and she got a straight to DVD movie.
But hey, I got a chuckle out of it. We all need a chuckle every now and then. I implore you to have a chuckle.
@Jazzer94 I'd agree to a point in that neither All-Stars Battle Royale nor the Sony Kart games (Little Big Karting and Modnation Racers) have fared that well against the Nintendo rivals. But Sonic All Stars Transformed proved there is a definite market for a strong Karting alternative - especially since there is a contingent that believe the best Mario Kart games have been confined to handhelds for the last few generations.
@Squiggle55 Eh, Mario Kart isn't all that great - I plan on getting MK8, though. It really only gets recognition because the Cart racing genre is barren.
@BornOfEvil Mario Kart IS kart racing. How could you possibly improve on it?
