You may have heard of Liberation Maiden – Suda51's rather short shooter that launched as part of the Nintendo 3DS game compilation Guild01. Well, did you know that it has a sequel in the form of a visual novel? Previously released on the PlayStation 3 back in December, Liberation Maiden: SIN is now headed to the PlayStation Vita with all new enhancements.
In SIN, our protagonist is Kiyoto Kaido, a young man with the power to read the mind of others. He also just so happens to be an aide to President Shoko Ozora, the hero of the original release. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has reported that Suda51 is still involved with Liberation Maiden, writing some of the scenarios in SIN.
According to Siliconera, the Vita port will feature game enhancements such as "new elements and new CG events", as well as further improvements which haven't yet been disclosed. The title will launch in Japan on 31st July retailing at ¥6,800 ($65), with the download version available for ¥6,000 ($57). While there's currently no word on an overseas edition, you can still watch the opening movie below and cross your fingers and toes.

So will you be lost if you play this without playing the 3DS game?
I played Liberation Maiden and wasn't really too taken by it, but will definitely try out SIN seeing as it's a visual novel if it ever reaches our shores
