Sony may soon need an additional vowel in its corporate moniker, as it’s still yet to date the PlayStation 4’s hotly anticipated firmware update. Writing on the PlayStation Blog yesterday, manager Fred Dutton insisted that the system software upgrade – dubbed v1.70 – is due out imminently, though there’s still no word on a specific time frame.
“No update for you today, I’m afraid,” said the apologetic post. “We’ll have news very soon, though.” We’ve heard whispers that the refresh won’t deploy until 30th April, but the platform holder’s language indicates that it may arrive sooner yet. Still, if you simply can’t wait, you should check out this SHAREfactory video for an indication of what the update will do.
