As with Call of Duty, it’s typically around this time of the year when Activision tends to talk about the next Skylanders game. The publisher’s annual toy-focused affair has blossomed into one of the biggest brands on the planet over the past few years, and is showing no signs of slowing down under the organisation’s watchful eye. So, what could the next release be called?
Well, our friends over at Family Gamer TV think that they may have uncovered the secret, as a slew of European retailers have recently listed a game named Skylanders: Trap Team for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. If this is indeed the name, it’ll be interesting to see the title’s gimmick, as the previous entry Swap Force allowed you to change figurines by snapping them together.
Either way, we’ll find out soon, as editor Andy Robertson was recently asked to a swish event in London to check out the title for himself. Fascinatingly, the invite itself – which includes a fancy video message – comes with a kind of magnetic key that allows the clip to be toggled on and off. Confused? Check out the footage below and all will be revealed.

This is an open door for x-rated puns right there...someone didn't think this through.
I can feel my son spending all my money already.
Spyro needs a serious come back. Honestly! **** skylanders.
Did Activision kidnap Andy? That UK press event was yesterday, Tues 22nd, but there hasn't been a peep out of him for 2 days, Family Gamer Forbes, nuthin. I know the NYC event is in 30 minutes so I'm wondering if they are all locked up in a flat in London somwhere like some hung jury.
