Forget about the Fall of Man, as Sony is set to pull the plug on the Resistance trilogy’s online multiplayer servers tomorrow. Despite originally being set to say goodbye at the end of March, it seems that developer Insomniac Games managed to convince Sony to keep the titles online for an extra week or so – and it’s been using that time to play with fans.
As one of the defining brands of the PlayStation 3 era, it’ll be a shame to see this series effectively die when the plug is pulled, but we guess that all good things must come to an end. And let's be honest, you’ve had over five years to get that 10,000 kills Trophy in Resistance 2, so you can’t really complain about a lack of opportunity.

I've never played these. With the inevitable drop in price after this, are any of the single player campaigns worth anything?
@ztpayne7 the first game was awesome.. The second game was pretty good and I haven't finished the third one. But I thought the first one was amazing because it was one of the first games to come out for the system
@ztpayne7 I bought a launch day PS3 and rented resistance (because I needed something to play), and it was pretty bad. Knee high rubble blocking your path (rather than a legitimate reason that you can't go that way) and general poor level design. I never got in to the sequels because the first one was very meh.
RFoM is still my favorite FPS MP to date. So sad to see it go.
Resistance 3's campaign is my favorite. Still hoping for Resistance 4 but at this point I doubt it.
I totally forgot about this series. They should re release it on ps4.
@ztpayne7 Fall of man hasn't aged too well for me but could still be worth a go if you find it cheap. 2 improved on the original quite a bit and has some epic set pieces during its campaign. The 3rd game has the best single-player of the 3 and gets quite atmospheric at times, probably has one of the best FPS campaigns of last gen. Worth trying if you've not played through any of them
All 3 games are good in single player, so that is what's most important. Resistance 2 had the worst of the campaigns, but crazy ending. Unfortunately R2 also had the best multiplayer of the 3. Oh well.
