Was one off-screen image not enough to quench your raging thirst for PlanetSide 2 on the PlayStation 4? Worry not, then, as executive producer Clint Worley has posted a second shot of the vibrant first-person shooter, this time better demonstrating the upcoming free-to-play MMO's sharp sense of style. It’s already looking great, isn’t it?
Writing on Twitter, the developer reiterated that the game will be playable in Los Angeles next month. “No worries,” he told an appreciative fan. “We've just been cranking on our E3 version that will be hands-on playable.” There’s no word on a release date just yet, but the title’s apparently coming together nicely, so expect it to deploy later this year.

Another f2p is always welcome as long as its not pay to win. Planetside 2 was always one of my more anticipated releases though, as I can't wait to be part of a war as opposed to a deathmatch. Any word on the amount of players that can play each other at the same time on PS4?
Btw, will you guys ever re-review Warframe? Your original review was spot-on really, but the Warframe we're playing today seems much different than launch Warframe. It's a much more streamlined game now and some of the most fun on PS4 at the moment.
The game looks like Destiny from the shot. Weird
Appreciate free stuff but this isn't really my bag. Is it much different from borderlands? I've yet to play it, sat in my backlog.
@SimonAdebisi Planetside 2 is completely different than borderlands. PS2 is more like your FPS multiplayer where your up against other players trying to capture points. Think of battlefield on a much larger scale, and when I mean larger, the maps are like continents with multiple bases in them. At least that is what it was like in the first Planetside, I expect it to be that scale in this one too.
PlanetSide 2 is a MASSIVE online FPS, and I mean massive!!
There is a very wide range of modes of transport and multiple classes to mix it up with in battle. Each class has different weapons and customization options, allowing you to stand out from the crowed.
You can rain death from above or go in and take on the world in a Max Suit.
PlanetSide 2 isn't your usual Online F2P due to it's sheer size and seemingly endless tasks to complete! It's unlikely that you'll get bored of PS2 if you're into games like Battlefield and Star Wars, as this is pretty much a combination of the two.
PlanetSide2's three warring factions have unique looks, making each easily recognizable on the field of combat!
Now you've got a bit of information about this massive game, pick a side and get out there!!
@Cloud7794 As far as Im aware its the exact same as the PC version which had player counts of up to 2,000 per continent/map. Been looking forward to trying it on Ps4 myself as my PC struggles a bit seen as I didn't build it for gaming primarily lol It is a bit of a pickle the Warframe situation. Its the reason I haven't reviewed any F2P games myself as they tend to improve so much post-launch
Don't have a PS4 and don't really intend to get one, but have fun taking The Crown you guys.
@Demi_God far more interested then, I will at least give it a go.
@MadchesterManc Haha yeah I figured it'd be fair to review a f2p at launch, then give it a "revisited" review once it's largely considered out of beta.
And that seems very great; if Planetside 2 will really be that large-scale on PS4 then I'll likely have trouble putting it down. You know what game would be amazing though? Fantasy Earth Zero reboot for PS4.
This is my most anticipated game to come this year along with Destiny and Drifter for the PS4.
Cheers!!!
