Dust, dirt, and menacing mutants may be the order of the day in 4A Games’ post-apocalyptic PlayStation 4 re-release Metro: Redux, but the Ukrainian studio is still aiming to dish up something delicious courtesy of the power of Sony’s next-gen super machine. As part of its preparations for E3, the firm has uploaded two new Vine videos, providing an early glimpse at the overhauled game.
The first focuses on a DualShock 4 controller, before showing the title’s boot icon, and a couple of clips of gorgeous gameplay. Meanwhile, the second switches between gunplay and a Digital Foundry-esque framerate counter, which is locked at 60 frames-per-second. You can watch the clips through here and here. Are you excited to delve back into the underground? Save your bullets in the comments section below.

Need...a...release....date...pronto Need to pre-order! If they fix the slightly clunky gunplay of the original then we're looking at Port-of-the-Year right here
I played some of it with the free psplus version.
I liked it enough to pay money just to play it with a dualshock 4.
@LDXD This is re-release of Last Night for PS4 as far I'm aware...
@LDXD Its a remaster of Metro 2033. Ive also heard that Last Light is included in the package as well, but thats just a rumour so far.
I think I permanently damaged my eyesight playing Last Light after I got it on PS+ ....it was a good game but damn it's murky. I never played 2033...and the story line is good enough in the series that I'd risk further vision deteriation for it.
Will it include all DLCs? Paying extra money for Last Light's Ranger Mode just doesn't feel right.
I read the first book and loved it. Almost made me cry at the end, which is rare for me. Played a bit of the first game on 360 but never finished it. Liked it enough to finish it on PS4, though...if I can get it cheaper than at launch, that is.
@MadchesterManc Last Light is included, see one of the videos.
Everyone, metro redux is a remaster of bother existing metro games due to be released on PS4,Xbone and PC.
Hi im new here....I'm love my ps4 especially resogun...never played the metro series any good?
@OnlyGrant It's a standard FPS mainly, but with a cool setting. Takes place in the year 2033 (who would've though), after earth was devastated by nuclear war. The game itself is set in Moscow's underground train system, where people fled to when the war started.
Since the underground system is vast, there's several cities with different political opinions (communists, neo nazis, others...), some living in peace side by side, some fighting each other, some having forged a fragile truth.
You play a ranger, a member of a special group of people who go to the surface to find supplies, ammo and weapons. You not only fight (some) the people in the underground system, but also have to deal with mutants and such that roam the nuclear wasteland that is the surface.
Since money in itself has no value anymore, you pay all that you need with ammo, either pre-war ammunition that's especially valuable (and does more damage) or post war ammo. So you always have to consider if you'd rather keep the ammo in case you encounter some hard to kill enemies or use them as currency for items.
I didn't play the first game that long, but read the book, which is awesome and very "un-american" in style (the writer is a Russian). The game does a wonderful job of capturing the atmosphere of post-apocalyptic despair and destruction you'd expect after a nuclear war. The underground society displayed is very believable, with everyone just trying to get by, basically living of junk and stuff they just scraped together.
So, if FPS games with a unique twist are your thing and you like post-apocalyptic settings, I'd say this game is definitely worth trying out.
If you don't want to shell out 60 bucks or so for the updated, shinier current-gen version, you can get the games for cheap on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Played it on the 360 back then and the graphics were already quite good, with very nice lighting effects and such.
Hope I could help.
Edit: Oh, and welcome to the site!
@Reverend_Skeeve Wow. You paid way more attention to the story than I did! Or did you google?
@Ginko Nope, didn't google. This is what I remember from reading the first book and playing the first quarter of the game about 2 years or so ago.
@Reverend_Skeeve
Thanks man...I Deffo going to pick this up after doing a Lil more reading
