We certainly had a lot of fun with Destiny's PlayStation 4 Alpha, but there's no getting around the fact that we, as Guardians, have contributed heavily to the extinction of creepy aliens. If they weren't trying to blow our heads off, we would be a little more sympathetic, but as it stands, the total death tally of just under 197 million is perhaps something to be proud of.
Over on Bungie's website, the developer has posted numerous statistics regarding the aforementioned Alpha. Despite the event being host to a relatively small amount of players, the numbers make for impressive reading. 6.4 million player games were completed, and 1,195 Deathless Medals were awarded to users who survived an entire Crucible multiplayer match without dying. How many kills do you think you managed to rack up? Unleash your super in the comments section below.

Zero I will be playing in the beta, couldn't sign up for the alpha
@B4SDR4G it's okay. You can cry now. We won't judge you... much! ;p
It was excellent, bit frenetic and uneven but still immensely enjoyable...
I hope bungie offers all the stats tracking like they did on halo 3, that was one of the best stat tracking systems I've seen.
I must have bumped off in excess of 1,000 enemies during my time with the alpha, I kept seeing a tally every now and then, which told me how many out of 500 of that particular enemy I'd killed. I'm sure many people got to the 500 target for the number of denizens slaughtered during their playthrough. Put a pre order in yesterday so I'll be playing the beta next month, hope to see many of you there.
Did anyone with the alpha happen to check how much data they used? I don't have the greatest internet and would hate to get this game an not be able to play it due to too much data usage or my internet being too slow. I live in the middle of nowhere and we only have 1 internet provider so the prices are jacked up. The best package is $120 a month for 25gb of data and 1 or 2mb/s connection. It really sucks.
@T7L3R
Where do you live? Perhaps it's a UK thing, but here in the US you don't get capped on your data, except for cell phone data plans (3G/4G) and the like. As far as home internet is concerned, they charge per bandwidth. So, 30mbps is the standard now, but if you're willing to shell out a little more you can get 60mbps or 100mbps with high speed fiber optic lines
@LDXD
Oh, yeah go figure. With AT&T I wouldn't write off anything as impossible. I despise AT&T. Won't touch em with a ten foot pole!
I go through Charter broadband, 30mbps for like $30 a month with no data cap, and I believe they're automatically upgrading their minimum speed to 60mbps in the near future. Now, I'm no fan of Charter either, but they're saints compared to AT&T. I'd never even heard of data caps for home internet until AT&T.
@JaxonH I live in the US but way out in the middle of nowhere. There are no fiber optic cables for miles and I don't even get cell service at my house most of the time. The only options for internet are Excede (satellite internet) or dial-up.
@LDXD it's called Excede and I checked recently and they seem they seem to have lowered their prices. I have the bare minimum 10gb at the moment. Microsoft would have been the end of gaming for me but luckily Sony was smart enough not to go down that road with the always online.
EDIT: just checked and a 25gb plan with Excede in my area is actually $130 a month. It's ridiculous but the only competition they have is dial-up lol.
@LDXD netflix is completely out of the question lol. It would eat up 10 gigs in less than a day. I've never played much online though so I was just wondering if anyone had the slightest idea about what kind of data usage I'd be looking at. Maybe I'll just google it and see what pops up. I love living out in the country, but jeez it can be a real pain in the neck sometimes lol.
@T7L3R see if you can get people to outcry toward google for google fiber
@uchinakagema the problem is there are so few people in my area that any company spending the money to set up any kind of network in the area would have to be doing it purely out of good will because they wouldn't be making much of a profit.
well I got my beta code from amazon uk now I just have to wait for it to open because I missed out on the alpha
