Keeping secrets in the video game industry is akin to sailing across the ocean in a boat made out of Swiss cheese: eventually you're going to have some leaks. A recent high-profile example of this trend occurred at this year's EVO competitive fighting game tournament, during which footage of Tekken 7 was revealed much earlier than originally planned.
Series creator Katsuhiro Harada was quick to respond to the leak, though, and quite literally cobbled this brand new trailer together in his hotel room. It's a fairly lean affair, but will presumably get series fans excited. Unfortunately, the clip is almost completely devoid of gameplay, so you'll have to make do with its hair-raising histrionics for the time being.
Are you getting pumped for Tekken 7, or have you lost interest in the franchise in recent years? What do you make of this new trailer? Let us know in the comments section below.

"Hair-raising histrionics" = very, very good.
Let's be honest, this is a rubbish trailer, but if it was put together in Harada's hotel room, I guess that's ok. My only concern right now is the engine. I haven't played an Unreal Engine 4 game yet, but I hated the way the previous version looked.
Tekken has always had an awesome style to it, so I hope they don't lose that. Mortal Kombat and Injustice both looked grimy in UE3. I guess it's too early to be worrying about such a minor detail, though - will wait for gameplay.
Tekken has been my favorite 3D fighter for a while. I just don't like the series is so hit and miss lately. I loved 1-3, enjoyed Tag 1 but 4 sucked. Then 5 was good, then 6 was entirely mediocre. They did rebound with Tag 2, so we'll see what happens with 7. Can't really tell anything from this trailer. Hopefully more news incoming at TGS.
Tekken 6 was the first Tekken I played since Tekken 3 back on PS1, and 6 was a huge let down. I'm stoked for MKX right now, so I'll wait to see if Tekken 7 will be the return to the series I've been waiting for. If not, MKX will scratch my fighting itch. If Tekken 7 turns out to be good, then I'll be glad to give it a go. MKX is a 2D fighter after all, so a 3D would be a good compliment to have in my PS4's library.
@Gamer83 Not my favorite series but definitely top 5, have to agree about the hit and miss but TT2 was a nice improvement over Tekken 6 though Tekken 3 is still my favorite.
that trailer sucked. I want to see gameplay and new stuff they added.
More excited for this than Mortal Kombat
@Gamer83: I agree as I said before if there is a series that could benefit from a reboot it's Tekken for sure.
Tekken is just great. It's probably the ONE fighting game I never let myself get too technical in. I play it for quick, explosive matches with friends and that's probably why I absolutely loved Tekken 6. I'm hoping that Tekken 7 really brings the series back on top though. There's going to be the obvious advances in gameplay and mechanics, but as long as it's still at the point where it can be completely fun without needing to count frames and take into account every move in my opponent's move list: I'm golden.
Pretty much my favorite fighting franchise. Can't wait to hear more about this at SD Comic-Con.
I only have the time, patience, interest and skill to somewhat learn one fighting game, and this gen it will be Mortal Kombat (again) for me!
