PlayStation veterans are in for a treat this week, as Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is set to bring a funny whiff to Sony’s shiny black box. The remake of popular PSone classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee – which has forever tainted this editor’s ability to spell ‘odyssey’ – carries a premium price point at $29.99, but has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, meaning that it’s sure to justify every single smelly cent.

Gotta love Abe
I cant believe Entwined scored 9/10 on push square!! "On the cusp of being a masterpiece" the review said., Its bloody poo!! 60 percent on Metacritic to boot!!!
@Davros79 I really like it. Different strokes and all that...
Yeah but 9 was generous m8!! Entwined was and a simplistic twin analog stick only controlled game. And it still had major control issues!! Im not saying IGN are a gaming bible or anything. But Entwined only scored 6/10 on that site calling it "okay"
This week's sales blows alot of sales out of the water, as of lately
Was excited to see Might n Magic b/c it brought back memories of Heroes of Might n Magic and I thought it was a sequel. Too bad its just a card game. There wouldn't happen to be a hot demon chick card would there?
@get2sammyb I think with the PS Store update you should also note the massive discounts as well! I jus bought Injustice Ultimate Edition on PS4 for $8,40 which is a steal! Just a recommendation for a new section for the PS Store update.
The North American customers are so lucky! 20% discounts to EU PS+ customers is virtually unheard of. Release dates, promotions, sales... doesn't happen in the EU. SCEE are the biggest bunch of incompetent morons since the Keystone cops. How about doing an article on the difference between the EU and NA Playstation services then ask Yoshida why he encourages racism?
New 'n' Tasty for $30? lol, no.
I'll be pre-ordering CounterSpy, Rogue Legacy, and Hohokum though. Those look like good games at decent pricepoints with the PS+ discount.
@voodoo341 personally I've found the EU offering has really been improving the last year or so and think they are fairly regularly on par. Contrary to what you have stated, PS+ members often get additional discounts on products compared to regular users, and there are frequently deals of the week and sales with some pretty spectacular bargains in them. Just because a service doesn't cater to your specific tastes, doesn't mean it's a bad service. If this perceived injustice really upsets you that much, create a US account to get the deals you want and quit whining about how the grass is greener on the other side.
Also worth noting that decisions re sales and discounts are fairly often placed in the hands of the publishers. So if a 3rd party game gets a discount in the US and not here, that's because the publisher decided the discount would be better for their business there than here (makes sense - larger population = more people to buy it which makes up for the reduced price). SCEE get a lot of stick for something that is often out of their hands in the first place.
@SteveButler2210 first of all let's bury the urban myth that some how SCEE have no say over what's put on sale on the EU store. It's their store! They own it, control and set the rules. Please stop making excuses for them. You may feel you personally get value for money on the EU store but take a quick look at PS Blog comments and even Stevie Wonder can see SCEE have a problem. EU prices are up to 54% more expensive. Discounts despite your claim rarely happen and if they do it's a default paultry 10%. Sales are nothing short of pathetic and it's only SCEEs fault. They deserve all the grief they get.
@Davros79 I am in total agreement with you on that. I bought it thinking "this
ought to be fun." It was not. If you pay close attention, this site tends to teeter on the edge of sucking Sony's nuts.
EDIT : You should check out Zero Punctuation on youtube, he is the only true reviewer on this planet.
@voodoo341 Also agree with you, every single time my housemate comes to tell me he got a game with all it's dlc included for like £4 on Steam I just want to put my foot through my ps4.
@voodo341 You provide me with some hard evidence that it is an "urban myth", and I'll happily accept that. Until then, just no. This isn't the same as a high street store where they have already made a bulk purchase of the games and can therefore charge what they want (often able to charge a lower price as they themselves may get a reduction for ordering games in bulk). Here, SCEE may be able to set the rules re the cut they get, and they may be able to try and push for certain sales, but at the end of the day apart from 1st party content I really don't think they have the final say for the most part.
Also, if we're going back to your first post re the 20% discount, the latest post on the EU PSN blog confirms that this applies to us too. Might want to check yourself before throwing a tantrum next time...
@Axel210 fair point re Steam, it's a pain, but i's hardly anything new - PC games have pretty much always been a shedload cheaper than console versions, and dropped in price faster. Just something you have to go into it accepting when you opt for the console!
@SteveButler2210 hard evidence.... are you serious? Who do you think owns the EU PS store? EA? It's exactly the same as a physical store. SCEE set the terms and conditions, your consumer contract is with SCEE. If you've an issue on the store you contact SCEE. It's solely and totally SCEEs store! And well done you found one game out of hundreds with the same discount even though it's more expensive in the EU. Well done!
@SteveButler2210 Sony can't discount the content of other publisher's without getting approval. This isn't like retail where it purchases stock off a manufacturer and is free to sell the goods on at whatever price it wants. Inventory is unlimited, so publishers have to set the price.
@get2sammyb exactly the point I was trying to make (just put a lot more concisely)! Good to have that backed up by someone who knows what they're talking about.
@voodoo341 see Sammy's comment above. Just because the store is run and maintained by Sony, doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. Digital downloads are a very different business to normal stock retail. Sony haven't pre-bought stock, so they can't just turn around to a publisher and say "Hey you know that product we're selling for you? Well, now we're going to give you less money for it because we feel like it."
@SteveButler2210 absolute rubbish! Sony can set the price if they want. They allow... allow! the publisher to set the price! Stock volume etc is absolutely irrelevant. What absolute rubbish.
@voodoo341 do you seriously have no concept of how ridiculous what you are suggesting is? In your makebelieve world, if they wanted to, Sony could just tell a publisher, who they haven't given any money to yet for their game, that they are going to sell it at 10% of the publishers asking price and that is all they will be getting. You really believe that's how it works? It is the publisher's product, and they set the price not because Sony "allow" them to, but because they are the only ones with the rights to do so. Sony don't have any rights to other publishers games, they could not do what you imply, simply because IT WOULD NOT BE LEGAL.
@SteveButler2210 tell you what Steve, you tell me the EU country SEN and SCEE is based in and exactly what law in that country would make it illegal.
@voodoo341 Look, Sony do not own the product. They have not paid anything in respect of the product. They are simply providing the product, at a price agreed by the producer, and taking their cut of that. What you are trying to suggest, would be the equivalent of ebay dropping you a line to let you know that they had sold that item you set the £100 reserve on for a reduced price of £50, and that if you didn't like it then tough because it's their store. It's absolute nonsense, surely you must realise this?
@SteveButler2210 answer the simple questions I asked you! Should be easy if you know anything about what you're talking about. I will give you a clue.... It isn't the UK. By the way your EBay example laughable.
just got on the store on my Vita this morning and noticed they are having a "super hero" sale. I was able to pick up batman and injustice for my vita for four bucks each! score!! I've been wanting to play those games for awhile but didnt want to pay 20+ for them. Very excited. I agre with @iSolipsistJudas, it would be cool if you guys added a section to the north american store update with the sales going on.
