We love release dates here at Push Square, and even more so when they sneak up behind us without warning. Dynamighty's CounterSpy passes all of its stealth checks, as its arrival has crept up on us like a particularly efficient spy. Blending together gun-toting action along with tactical espionage, this side-scroller will arrive on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita on 19th August in North America and 20th August in Europe.
Set during the Cold War, you'll play as an agent from C.O.U.N.T.E.R, an organisation attempting to thwart a dastardly plot by infiltrating imperial and socialist bases. While a traditional two-dimensional title at heart, this game shifts to third-person when you're behind cover, allowing you to pop bad guys at range. Unlike other stealth games, however, you won't be able to memorise guard patterns, as maps are generated randomly with each playthrough.
With the clandestine escapade being both cross-buy and cross-save compatible, are you willing to let this sneak onto your system of choice? Write in Morse code in the comments section below.

Wow, - .... .. ... / .-.. --- --- -.- ... / .-. . .- .-.. .-.. -.-- / --. --- --- -.. .-.-.-
Morse Toad, they should have made him an Amphibian spy. How does side scroller and infiltrate work, I can't see how.
I'm not a fan of it's art style.
Reminds me of rocketbirds hardboiled chicken
I love the look of this. Ive struggles with a few of the Indies that have been released, of date. But I think this one ticks all the right boxes for me. Any news on price yet?
@SimonAdebisi I thought that untill I saw the gameplay
@ShootTheRunner It is going to be $14.99 and £9.99. The Europe will have a PS+ launch discount but not certain about the US.
Reminds me a bit of Shadow Complex & Mark of the Ninja - both of which I loved, so will prob check this out...
Awsome. Everyone loves a discount!
I remember this didn't preview well at last years Gamescom, so the devs & Sony decided to delay it, hopefully nearly a year's extra development time that it's up to scratch.
I'm looking forward to this one. It could be something to help tide me over on the way to Destiny if everything shakes out well and this game plays how it should. It looked like a lot of fun from the demos at E3. I'm more excited for this than I was for The Swapper and that turned out to be a great gaming experience. That's not perfect logic, I know, but I'm hoping.
This will be the first indie I actually pay for. Looks interesting.
This screams PS+ to me. As much fun as it looks I'm going to wait on it. Well probably get it free before the end of the year. Still holding out for Another world to hit plus.
@Holydiver85 Do you know about any new games that came to PSN then 5 months later it's free?
Cant wait to play this!
On Vita yay
I seen a couple of videos on this game. It looks good to me, I may get it once I beat Marvel lego super heroes or whatever it's called. that game was a heck of a deal for $10, lots of content imo.
@Demi_God Yes it does has a lot, I payed full price for it tho. :l
This is the most interesting of this year's Play promotion, I'll probably buy it as long as reviews aren't atrocious.
@get2sammyb V NTERR, YBBXVAT SBEJNEQ GB GUVF BAR.
I preordered it. Looks really good. And since it was discounted, more power to me .
