With the Destiny beta open to everyone at the moment, you may be hoping for similar treatment in LittleBigPlanet 3. Unfortunately, it seems that Sony and Sumo Digital want their most creative fans to play around with the PlayStation 4 toolbox before the rest of us get a look in. Writing on the LBPCentral fansite, Steven Isbell revealed that private beta invites will be sent out soon – but very few will be receiving one.
“Please be aware that space for this private beta is incredibly limited and only a small number of you will actually receive an invitation,” the community manager explained. “However, we thought that it would be better that you hear about this private beta directly from us than just through the grapevine.”
Of course, that doesn’t mean that you won’t ever get a chance to participate. “Please don't be discouraged if you didn't get chosen this time around,” Isbell iterated. “We still have plenty of news to share with everyone between now and release. And we certainly won't forget you all.” It sounds to us like there’ll be a public beta later in the year.
It makes sense to limit this early test period to renowned creator curators, as they’re most likely to expose issues with the toolkit. Moreover, previous LittleBigPlanet titles have gotten a lot of press coverage from the content that people have created prior to release, so don’t be surprised if we get some ridiculous videos showing what’s possible in the upcoming sequel soon. We did spy a 3D tennis game in the E3 trailer, which has this editor inordinately excited.

I might. Very active on little big planetarium.
@sackninja Awesome, if you do get in (and you're allowed), make sure you come back and tell us what you think!
@get2sammyb - You and your tennis. Maybe that kid in Last Gaurdian will get a tennis minigame
So, does PS3 get a beta? Ive accepted the fact that there will indeed be a PS3 version but Im still a little fuzzy on release date details.
Just remebered I got the PS3 Destiny beta off the SEN site, guess I should turn on my PS3 and DL it. I really have no interest but wanted to check out its PS3 graphics.
edit - PS+ auto DL Destiny last night, but I cant play it b/c no matter what I do it keeps saying Ethernet cable is not connected. Which is really ridiculous b/c the 1st thing the game did when I booted it was DL a 24MB update. And my PS Now beta runs just fine. Oh well, I guess thats why the call them beta tests.Good thing I dont care about the game.
I was always really good on the play aspect of LBP. Always got all the bubbles, aced every level, played nicely, was very polite about even the most half hearted of player created levels...
Always hit a creative block when it came to creating anything. I think half the problem was a lack of any artistic talent. The other half was refusing to just knock out a rubbish level and impose it upon others.
So yeah, no beta for me.
@RawShark Making stuff is really hard, too. I've had ideas for levels, but never had the ability to actually bring them to fruition. The cool thing is, there are more than enough people out there making amazing things that it's easy to just sit back and play.
Ive been invited to play -ALL- the Little Big Planet beta tests. Hope the trend continues <3
@get2sammyb I've made so many wacky creations you might be shocked! Made everything from transforming Starhawks vehicles and Twisted Metal cars, to things like platformers where you can do walljumps and slides (before it was an actual thing!)
