PSN Offline Maintenance PS4

As has become a frighteningly frequent occurrence of late, Sony’s decided to run some mandatory maintenance on the PlayStation Network – during a Bank Holiday weekend. Those of you living in the UK will probably be looking forward to a full three days away from work right now, but you may not be able to engage in as much gaming as you’d like on Monday night, as the Japanese giant’s decided to faff about with its servers while you waste your free time elsewhere.

The downtime is set to start at 17:40PM BST on Monday, 25th August and will run right the way through until 00:50PM BST on Tuesday, 26th August – pretty much bed time for most, we reckon. During this time you won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, Account Management, and more. You will be able to play online, however, as long as you log in before the maintenance begins. You may want to make yourself some kind of reminder, then.

Asked why this keeps occurring, one of PlayStation’s community support assistants pointed out that any maintenance always occurs on a Monday, which is just plain bad luck for UK Bank Holidays. All the same, you’d think that the organisation could run these checks overnight or something; we appreciate that it’s always peak time somewhere in the world, but this has happened way too many times now. It’s unacceptable, really.
