Sony didn’t announce the big Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition hardware bundle that we were expecting this week, but the game’s definitely looking rock solid on the handheld machine. The platform holder has deployed this fairly lengthy trailer showing off the portable release, which demonstrates that it’s an identical conversion of the PlayStation 3 version.
There’s still no word on a release date for the game, but the official line is still “before the end of August”. 4J Studios, the team behind the port, recently announced that it had submitted the PlayStation 4 edition for certification, but is still busy squashing bugs in the pocketable package. It should be done any day now, we reckon.

Should of had a Minecraft bundle announced at Gamescom, really missed a great opportunity.
@Jazzer94 100 per cent agree! I hope they at least still do one. They're idiots if they don't, to be honest.
@get2sammyb The kids Sammy the kids they are the key to parents bank accounts and the best chance for the Vita in the west right now.
Its too late. If they wanted to sell vita then we should be seeing the same sort of campaign that TLOU remaster has had. Sony doesn't much care.
@SimonAdebisi You're right
Now we just need a release date..
@XFsWorld Yep!
26th. or not
"Hey, kids! Here's a handheld that plays the PS3 version of Minecraft, as well as Rouge Legacy, Don't Starve, and moar!" ...is what they should have said.
They are going to make a minecraft bundle, you guys should check this link https://mojang.com/2014/05/minecraft-on-xbox-one-ps4-and-ps-vita-soon/
A Vita + 16GB card + Minecraft + Tearaway + Little Big Planet for $250 + marketing sounds like a great idea for people on the fence to me. I am more disappointed that the price of memory sticks weren't slashed again at Gamescom. The 4GB card needs to go. For games that are digital only like FFX-2 or Soul SaSacrifice Delta, or even games with huge patches like Killzone Mercenary the little card is a joke for those whom try to stick physical releases.
I love how the yellow quote on the title screen says "Meeting Expectations!"
I know I'm a day late but 2 questions if anyone stops by -
Can people on the Vita play w/ people on the PS3?
il this work on PS TV?
@rjejr apparently it is cross play, no idea about pstv, I don't even know what games are compatible in general tbh
