We may have had to twiddle our thumbs a little longer than anticipated for Hotline Miami 2, but you’ll be able to feed your murderous desires on the PlayStation 4 this month courtesy of a cross-buy version of the original title. Writing on the game’s official Twitter page, a spokesperson for the series explained that, as previously teased, the next-gen massacre will be totally free if you donned one of the title’s iconic masks on the PS3 or Vita.
Furthermore, the game will boast some new improvements on the DualShock 4, such as the ability to shake the pad to beat your victims to death. To be honest, we’ll probably stick with the original button bashing option – but those looking to get a little more physical while committing digital genocide should at least appreciate the option, right?

Well...I dont like hurting people
I have this game on ps vita and ps3 through plus... if you own the plus version do you also get a free copie on ps4? (is it like cross-buy?)
@darkswabber Yep, it sounds like you'll get it as long as your PS Plus sub hasn't lapsed.
The soundtrack to this game was awesome.
Sweet. I still reckon this game is best on Vita and I doubt it'll add anything to the PS3 version, but nice to have the option.
And what a game it is. Everyone should experience the sadistic thrill of throwing a pan of boiling water in someone's face at least once.
@divinelite luckily for you, it's just a game. No people were actually harmed during the making of Hotline Miami.
@AhabSpampurse it's a pun lol, like the tag of the game "do you like hurting people?". Anyway i dont like it but i know when i play i just cannot stop...
Good game, great music
Didn't get to finish it on ps3, so will be getting that,,, love a bit of murder
Cool now I can play it since I don't own a Vita yet.
I couldn't get into this on vita. Will try again on my ps4
Can't argue with free, but if you've only played this on the PS3, the Vita version is the way to go. Easily one of the system's best games.
Oh lord, and that soundtrack....
Yeah, Vita is the best way to play this, without question. Can't wait to play it on the PS4 though.
I beat the game on Vita, but not the epilogue. I wish I had more drive to stay in some games I've already beaten. Oh well, onto the next title.
