2K Games has announced that co-operative first-person shooter Evolve is the latest title to flee the hectic Christmas release schedule, settling down in the equally busy February window instead. Now due out on 10th February worldwide, the asymmetrical affair will be joined by The Order: 1886, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and potentially even Bloodborne.
Speaking during a financial call, Take Two’s president Karl Slatoff stated that the title “deserves” additional production time, which will allow it to release in an “optimal state”. He also explained that February is a “pretty terrific” window, noting that it’s “not at all crowded”. We don’t necessarily agree, but what do we know about big business? Not much, otherwise we'd be penning this article on a private yacht.

Depends when Batman is released. If Arkham Knight isn't coming out in February, then his statement is pretty accurate that's it's not the worst time to release the game. What would be its main competition? The Witcher 3, which looks awesome but is a series that never does great in sales, and the other would be The Order 1886, which doesn't seem to be shaping up well.
There's Batman: Arkham Knight too. I think Sony NEED to either move The Order into January or back into March cos February is getting too crowded now. Releasing a new IP among a lot of heavy hitters or multiplatform games is one thing but when it's on one console too then it could be a problem , and I want The Order to be successful even though some seem to have a problem with 3rd person linear shooters cos that's not necessarily what the game is been sold on, it's sold on it's graphics, it's setting & story.
To be honest, I'd rather research the history of stamp collecting than play Evolve. I'm sure it's great, but... I don't think it's going to be for me.
Not really my kind of game either but from what I've seen it looks far more interesting than The Order, which seems to have more cutscenes and quicktime events than actual gameplay.
@Gamer83 But it's set in Victorian London and stuff! (I'm legit excited for The Order 'cos it's basically the setting I've always wanted, but do understand people's concerns with it.)
Evolve was never on my list, sure some will enjoy it though
I asked ex football agent Eric Hall his opinion of Evolve. And all he said was "MONSTER" "MONSTER" .
@get2sammyb
Hey now, I'm sure the history of stamp collecting is really interesting!!!

The setting is great, story seems cool. But the 'gameplay' segments I've seen just aren't that interesting. Shoot a few enemies, QTE, cutscene, shoot a few monsters, QTE... Maybe the game is going to be much better than what I'm giving it credit for but what's been shown off seems like trash and Ready at Dawn, while a developer I like, has always been hit and miss and most of their games I've played have been on handhelds. I wish Sony's A teams would hurry the hell up and get some real content on the PS4 instead they're wasting away on 'Remasters' and the idiots in charge of the division pushed Insomniac out of the fold and into MS' arms.
@Gamer83 Yeah, I think they're all legit concerns about The Order. I'm hoping that they've just done a really poor job demonstrating it so far.
I dont understand why people are worried about games coming at the same time.. The more games the better ; you choose the one you want first then you get the next one later etc XD
Its all good for 'gamers' and my choice would be the Order first then The Witcher
Oh well. I'll get it in february...as long as arkham knight isn't out in February.
@get2sammyb
Possible, but Sony seems to be banking on The Order, I don't why it would continually let a company fail to impress if there are aspects to the game that are much, much better than what has been shown to this point. I'm not hating for the sake of hating either, I had the game pre-ordered and I was really hyped after the initial reveal but that pre-E3 showing and the one at E3 were more than enough to convince to cancel that pre-order. This game looks to take the phrase 'movie game' to another level.
I was looking forward to getting this in October, but if it's coming out in February it will be overlooked by Batman Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3 among other great games. They should have just kept the October release date
