The decline of the puzzle game has been sad to see. Once a popular genre on the PSone and PlayStation 2, smartphones and social networks practically rendered anything other than Tetris redundant in the previous generation. Fortunately, you’ll always be able to import a copy of SEGA’s intriguing mash up Puyo Puyo Tetris, which is slamming its way onto the PlayStation 4 later this year in Japan.
Already available on the PlayStation 3 and Vita, this curious crossover puts two different puzzlers on screen at once, as you match blobs and break blocks in vibrant anime arenas. While we’re hopeful that this gets a proper Western release, it’s looking unlikely given the distinct lack of Puyo Puyo popularity overseas. At least you can look forward to Ubisoft’s upcoming Tetris Ultimate, huh?

Dear Sega,
You know how there's thousands of fans wanting the latest Yakuza games translated and released outside of Japan? And how you're still denying us the Vita version of F2P Phantasy Star Online 2? How about you get off your arses and give us Puyo Puyo Tetris? Unlike the other said games it won't involve God knows how much money translating it so it will be cheap. I'll even buy a copy on all three systems as I NEED me some more Puyo Puyo.
Sincerely,
Paul Thomas
@rastamadeus I always love saying this but SEGA gonna SEGA, um err...
I don't know what SEGA is up to these days, they have a sled load of unlocalised games. Besides Sonic, Aliens and some bizarre localisation choices.
@rastamadeus Signed.
