Remember when games managed to last countless months – sometimes even years – without several high-profile leaks? No, neither do we. The latest in this growing trend of industry slipups is a trailer for Assassin's Creed: Rogue, the purported series entry planned to hit PlayStation 3 later this year. You can find the full clip through here.
Apparently, this new title will tread the same path as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, featuring a mix of both land and naval combat. The video itself seems to indicate an Arctic setting, and also confirms previous rumours that the protagonist will be a Templar. Oh, and it also sets out the game's downloadable content, if that sort of thing floats your boat.
Finally, the clip purports that the stealth-'em-up will be hitting store shelves on 11th November. Obviously, this should all be taken with a hearty pinch of salt, but we'd certainly be on-board for more of Black Flag's sensational seafaring shenanigans. At any rate, we suspect that we'll probably be hearing a little bit more about this mysterious title at GamesCom.
What do you make of this leaked trailer? Would you be interested in an Assassin's Creed game for PS3? Make a leap of faith in the comments section below.

A new Assassin's Creed game? It must be Tuesday.
To be honest, I'm actually much more excited for this than I am for Unity. The naval stuff in Black Flag was absolute genius.
5pm. Today? Its already leaked.
I still think AC2 is the best hopefully this or Unity will change that or I'm done with the series but obviously I'll wait a week or two after launch to get both for £20 each.
It's so weird that they're making two games this year.
would rather play unity.
@Jazzer94 Agree with you about AC2 being the best so far
More interested in Unity than this tbh but might check it out...
@get2sammyb it's just ubisoft being greedy there is no need for them to do this at all
@FullbringIchigo how is it them being greedy? I think if anything its fan service and great for next gen adopters. People like me who bought our next gen consoles day one or people who have made the switch are hoping for something more than what we've been getting, and ubisoft is bringing it to us with unity. If they had of just made the same game cross gen again, we'd be getting the same old thing. It's not until games are made from the ground up for these new consoles that they are actually starting to look next gen.
And this way the people who haven't adopted the new consoles yet still get a great new assasins creed game to play with more great naval combat from 4.
I like unity far better than this, and i just know sometime next year there will be assasin crred rougue hd on ps4
Just what we needed
I don't get why they segregate the PS3/X360 version with the PS4/XB1 version like that. I imagine they core Assassin's Creed fans would like to play both games and they could be annoyed that they'll need two different platforms for each game.
They should have put Rogue also on PS4/XB1 imo.
If Rogue is also on PC, then that goes to show the advantage the PC as a gaming platform has, that it gets both games and feels like a more unified platform, with more universal compatibility across the board.
Anyway, Rogue actually seems like the most interesting game to me, so I'll get that one down the line. (since I've also not 'switched' to PS4 yet)
I appreciate that Ubisoft tries to deliver the best experience for the fans of each platform, but I think they could just as well have made AC Rogue on all platforms including XB1/PS4 and hold back AC Unity till early next year.
Edit: nvm, AC: Rogue is apparently not coming to PC. PS3/X360 only. (but obviously a port to XB1/PS4/PC down the line is always a possibility)
Probably getting this instead of Unity. I prefer sailing the seas over co-op.
@mitcHELLspawn let's say you play AC for the story unlike ACIV which was cross gen these ain't so it's forcing people to buy a new system before they may want to but that not what I'm on about the fact is they are releasing 2 different AC games within a short space of each other in the same year not even activision or EA do that
imagine if EA released battlefield 5 then 2 months later battlefield 6 it's the same thing
@get2sammyb Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation & AC IIJ in 2012.
They might start doing this every two years and honestly who could blame them?
@FullbringIchigo you're not seeing the point. "It's forcing people to buy a system before they want to" yes exactly. It's not forcing, but that's the entire point.. to get people to adopt the new systems. Every publisher are doing this in one way or another.. ubisoft just took a different route. The faster people adopt the new systems, the faster the publishers will have to stop shelling out all this extra money to develop for upwards of 6 platforms and can start putting extra resources into making next gen games really shine. I think it's great and I can't wait to pick up unity on day one.. when we find out more about ac rogue, then I'll decide if I'll be picking that one up as well.. as for guys saying "this interests me more than unity" I don't really understand that because we really know next to nothing about the story or characters. I guess they mean the naval battles. I'm glad they're breaking it up with unity they're learning how to adapt to things getting stale in a franchise that comes out yearly.
Oh never mind, I see that ubisoft has released a bunch of details about the game. My mistake !
That does it, I'm done with AC. I'd rather troll through the Holy Land as Altair that parkour through Paris and sail into icebergs.
@get2sammyb only purportedly so.
I think this could be more interesting than Unity but I'll just wait for the inevitable current-gen re-release.
I still need to beat AC1 and play the other AC games (minus ACIV, waiting until I have a PS4 in 2016), but definitely looking forward to buying Rogue in a year or two when it's price has dropped down to $30 New or cheaper.
