You wanted it, so we’re doing it: WAYPTW will now be published on a weekly basis. In order to make this work, we’re not changing the format, but we’re going to keep the actual article portion more condensed than ever before. This is simply to help us to turn these pieces around much quicker. Otherwise, it’s the same feature that you know and love – so get commenting.

It’s been a busy week with Gamescom, so I’ve not really done much gaming – meaning that I’m itching to give P.T., Hohokum, and Surgeon Simulator a proper whirl. I love that the PlayStation 4 allows me to switch between such wildly different experiences on the fly.
Jamie O’Neill, Retro Editor
The Q&A section of Gamescom's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain preview show provided an interesting insight into how Hideo Kojima works, including a nice nod to Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand. The show also whetted my appetite to download and play P.T. on Sunday.

With the madness of Gamescom dying down, I have decided to devote my entire weekend to the noble pursuit of relaxation. To this end, I will be slithering my way through Hohokum, which is essentially the most calming Metroidvania game ever made.

I'm having a break on holiday this week, and so is my beloved PlayStation Vita. My 3DS will be getting some much needed love instead, as I finish off my island adventures in Lost in Blue 2 and play Pokémon X on the train. [Nintendo Life is this way, Nicola – Ed]

This weekend I'll mostly be living the pirate life as I "yo ho ho" and "shiver me timbers" through Risen 3: Titan Lords. When I take a break from that, I'll probably fire up Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for the PS4, which has the honour of being the third copy of the game that I now own.

I'll still be fending off the infected this weekend in The Last of Us Remastered, jumping between Trophy hunting in the campaign and keeping my clan well fed in Factions. I'll also be flexing my heart transplant skills in Surgeon Simulator. Ahem, so far it doesn't look like my NHS application will get accepted.

I finally got around to finishing inFAMOUS: Second Son's Paper Trail DLC this week, and was really surprised by how well the detective-like experience was put together. This weekend, I'm moving on to play something that I've put off for too long: Mass Effect. But should I play as the male or female Commander Shepard? Decisions, decisions... [FemShep is best, Joey – Ed]

This weekend I will be rounding up some mates to play some The Last of Us multiplayer. Our favourite playlist is the SOCOM-esque Survivors mode.
And that’s it for the first weekly edition of WAYPTW – short, sweet, and hopefully effective. One question remains: what will be occupying your time over the coming days? Let us know in the comments section below.

Dragons Crown on PS3 which Sony snuck out w/ PS+. I think it was all hush hush so they didnt PO the EU who only got the Vita version
Since I beat TLOU:Remastered last week.. I'll be playing TLOU: Left Behind. I already started it so I'll probably be finishing it up this weekend.
Dragons Crown also for me this weekend , but on Vita.
Then might finally make a start on Rayman Origins!
Nice to see this weekly. Thanks to @get2sammyb for asking for and listening to feedback!
For me it will be Shovel Knight, Bike Rider DX2 and Pokémon X.
I'm playing South Park and Hohokum.
Playing Borderlands 2 for Vita, just got it last week, pretty fun!
Risen 3 for me!. As rough as the series is it's such a guilty pleasure for me
Just started playing some Pokémon Mystery Dungeon on the 3DS. Also going to play Crysis 3 on PS3, Motocross Madness on 360, Lego Harry Potter on Vita as well as Fez, Knack and Guacamelee on PS4. Going to be a fun weekend.
Ah this is my last weekend to game all I want to, school starts Monday. Which sucks so bad,but I'm glad that this is my final year of High School so I hope that goes by fast.
When I do get the time to game this weekend I'll be playing The Last Of Us on my PS4, just got it a few days. I also got PT on my PS4's HDD and still haven't fired that up yet. I want to try it with my new Sony Gold PlayStation headsets, it should make the experience that much better. Hopefully I get time to game tonight.
My goal to beat my MLB 14 The Show franchise before the summer break ends has failed. I think I'm like 73-and something. So now my MLB The Show franchise will go into my backlog until I beat TLOUR and TLOU Left Behind. But then again Destiny us around the corner so I probably won't get the chance to finish my franchise at all.
Probably a little Rogue Legacy and a some TLOU multiplayer. Wish I had Diablo 3 for ps4 in my hand right now. I tried to play MGS: GZ last weekend, but I have to say it felt terrible to me. Something about it is very off and has made me not want to buy phantom pain when it releases. Might try to find more cubes in Fez and probably spend some time gaming with the son two player Minecraft style. Man that game sinks its hooks into kids and never lets go!
@Dohv You'll miss school when you finish. I know I do.
I don't like that abbreviation But good on weekly threads
3DS: Pokemon Y
PS Vita: SSD & MGS HD Collection.
PS3: MGSV: Ground Zeroes, Far Cry Classic & Far Cry 2 also have Defiance (F2P) downloaded.
Finishing off flower on ps4.
Tales of Xillia for me I already beat Milla story now playing NG+ for Jude also getting ready for Tales of Xillia 2 my girl is playing My Singing Monster (cute game)
Wind Waker HD and FFX-2 HD.
I have to say that FFX-2 has one of the weirdest openings for any game. I'm not sure I'm gonna like it. Kinda sad, I was really hoping to continue the FFX story.
Wait Diablo is out? I thought it isn't released until Tuesday? Or is it a review copy that he has?
@get2sammyb ohh yeah. Wish I could go back to those days as well.. it's crazy how much you want out of those years until you hit your 20 somethings. .. then it's all you want back!
I just got Vallyria Chronicles, so I'll be digging into that. I might play some Uncharted 2 and Arkham Origina too. And it's not a video game, but I'll be doing some 3.5 D&D over Skype.
Hoping that I'll finally be able to beat P.T. I've been having a hard time with it since Hideo Kojima is a crazy person and decided to randomize how you get through the final room. Other than that, I'm hoping to finish Kingdom Hearts 2 on the PS2 tonight with some friends, been working on that for a few weeks. Other than that, might try and fit some Fez into my schedule somewhere. Busy busy.
TLOU, the best game I have ever played.
Back into Borderlands 2 again. I've decided to give it another go as Krieg this time. It's just as good as my first play through.
Having fun with two of my favourite standbys this weekend: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010 game) and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
When I get a chance (rather IF I get a chance) to game I'll be playing some WWE 2k14, maybe some Defiance, and picked up Madden 13 (used and cheap). Haven't played a Madden game in a while, so I'll give it a go.
@get2sammyb I don't miss high school so much. I do miss college. First week of every semester was usually slow, which meant gaming, gaming, gaming . I still remember play a ton of Goldeneye in college. That was a blast.
Microsoft Mahjong (Win 8) - While I'm stuck in a hotel until Monday night
I'm working my way through the Sly Cooper series (more than half through the second game now) on the Vita. That's provided quite a bit of fun. I'm surprised how long the second game is.
I'm still itching to sample the two newly released games that they put up on PS+ and I want to finish up Strider on PS4 at some point.
Some Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z on Vita, and maybe some Dragon's Crown or Muramasa Rebirth as well.
PS4: MLB 14 The Show
X360: Halo Reach
@GameAce Yeah Sly 2 is pretty long compared to Sly 1. The Sly Collection is the best collection I've ever bought.
Morrowind.
Well thankfully my stomach problems from last week are gone so now I can game.
With that said since I am working this weekend not much time for games so I will probably be working on some stuff on World of Warcraft before the next expansion comes out November 13th.
On the PS4 front probably some NBA 2K14 with my son.
Might also play some Mega Man Unlimited on the PC since I can use my PS4 controller on that game. XD
Crysis 3.
Lately, my PS4 doesn't always turn on...probably because I don't use it a whole lot. Anyone else have that problem? If it ever dies...I'm going X1 out of spite.
...
Actually, fine, I'd buy another PS4, but I'd be very, very bitter about it.
I am feeling nostalgic. Going to play some original Diablo, war craft 2, and return fire on my ps1. Hope these come to psn soon, I would love all three on my vita.
@XFsWorld I pretty much missed out on these during that console cycle since I had an original Xbox. I only bought a PS2 close to the end of the generation to play the best of the best and played through Ratchet and Clank instead of Sly Cooper. I'm already thirteen hours into the second game and it's been a ton of fun with lots of memorable moments. Great price for what appears to be three spectacular games.
Gonna be finishing off the challenges in Gravity Rush for the plat, then back to the last of us, wishing there were more hours in the day so I could get stuck into the new FFXIV content, and looking longingly at Hohokum, because it's gonna be a while before I get round to that!
Me and the mrs played silent hill demo,iv been playin shadowfall gettin a bit done towards the plat and also some nfs rivals, cus i can, cause im.a trophy slag .loving ps4!!. Doing some gtav today got my 100% stat trophy now just need 70 gold missions and to play through singleplayer again to get the 200 million spent trophy and its my 52 plat.winner!!!
Still enjoying Risen but it's had to take a backseat due to me being sent the new Hyperdimension & Disgaea 4 on vita to review. Wouldn't be so bad but iv also gotten Diablo 3 early on Ps4 too many titles, especially with me having none last month so I cleared some backlog
@kupo You are worrying me for when I pick up my PS4 next month. 0.0
Been playing some FMC2014 and P4G on PSVita. Also been trying to complete AC III story on PS3 over the weekend. Likely will be launching my first online franchise on MLB The Show 14 later this evening on PS3, alongside one of my friends - we're both new to the game but both really enjoying playing it.
we I started a brand new save on Final Fantasy VII recently (gotta love the classics ^_^ ) so I'm going to be playing that
just got to cosmo canyon, time to face the Gi ghost
Virtua Cop and Virtua Cop 2 on the Saturn and Sonic 3 with Sonic & Knuckles lock on tech on the Genesis also In The Hunt on the PS1 and Soldier Blade on the PS3.
@kupo I have never encounterd thst problem but I have noticed that my ps4 fan goes into overdrive if I play The Last of Us for over 40 mins and it only does it when I play The Last of Us, no other game
good thing I have all the systems because if one breaks I have a back up of sorts
@kupo Never had any problems with my PlayStation 4 since launch. I love that machine.
Will be playing some Bf4 and MK8
@GameAce @XFsWorld
I got that one for PS3 and I agree with you both. When I get a collection, I seldom complete all games on it, but I did with Sly since I also skipped them in their prime, as I had a Dreamcast that gen. Loved all 3 games, but I haven't picked up 4th yet.
The only bad thing was that I played all three games straight, so I tend to confuse 2 with 3, as in what parts happened in what game, as they are a bit similar.
@XFsWorld The problems really started a couple weeks ago when I turned my PS4 on without using it for a couple hours just to let the controller charge. It went into standby and then wouldn't wake back up. Since there is NO WAY to manually turn off the PS4 (you have to use the system menu, which is garbage), I had to kill the power to it and then drain out all the residual power. Now, every once in a while, I will have to press the power button two or three times to turn the thing on. I wouldn't be surprised if the power surge from unplugging it damaged it, even though I have it plugged into a surge protector.
Anyway...just some bad luck for me, so I don't know if I'd be worried on your part. They really need the power button to be able to turn the system off, though, not just turn it on. The sacrifice of functionality just to make the thing look "good" is really stupid, imo.
@sinalefa You should definitely get Sly 4! It's really good. It's the one that made me want more Sly. That's why I bought the collection.
I've been playing The Amazing Spider-Man on my PS3 , I'm so happy my friend finally fixed my console !
