The problem with running WAYP on a weekly basis is that your humble host is invariably going to forget to put together the article from time to time – as this issue evidences. Your editor needed a firm reminder from news reporter Nicola Hayden, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this in the first place. To be fair, it’s impressive commitment on her behalf, seeing as she’s not even supposed to be working at the moment.

I’m taking advantage of the slow summer months to really clear out my backlog – and I’m actually making progress. LittleBigPlanet Karting is currently the title that I’m trying to clear, which, honestly, is a bit naff.

A week ago, I decided to try out the free trial of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and now I'm completely hooked on the full PS4 release. As a result, I'll probably be spending far too many hours in Eorzea this weekend, culling innocent wildlife and accepting quests from adorable furry dwarves.
Ben Potter, Video Editor
As the crushing realisation that I'm no longer on holiday slowly sets in, much like Sony, I've once again started to completely ignore my Vita. As such, I can give all of my love back to my PS4, so this weekend I aim to find the time to leap into The Last of Us Remastered's amazing multiplayer offering. Hopefully, I'll bump into/snipe some of you there.

I love SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 and Metal Slug Anthology on the PS2, but I'm like a kid gorging on sweets and can’t help but flit between games on compilations, so I'll concentrate on PSone Metal Slug X instead. Wistfully, I'm an SNK fan without a Neo Geo AES, which is comparable to being into Nirvana and not owning Nevermind.

Due to a truly embarrassing lack of planning on my part, I am currently running a bit late on the game that I'm reviewing, so that means that my weekend will be spent hastily completing the title, and then attempting to write some coherent sentences about it. I won't tell Sammy if you don't. [Too late – Ed]

After returning from my holiday, the first thing that I did was hug my copy of Tales of Xillia 2 [Most people make a cup of tea, but whatever floats your boat – Ed]. I’ll be playing that with my hubby. I’m also enjoying CounterSpy, which is a bit of a sneaky surprise.

My love of quirky and odd games has led to me acquiring a copy of Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed to play this weekend on my Vita. While I sometimes end up regretting these purchases, the premise of stripping clothes off 'vampires' to destroy them was too crazy to ignore, even if it does seem like it could end up in the same innuendo laden territory that forced me to abandon my playthrough of Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars.

This weekend, I will be ripping people's clothes off as a 17-year-old Japanese teenage boy [Bloody hell – Ed]. Before you cringe in disgust, I am just talking about Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed [Phew – Ed]. This wacky RPG has me hooked.

As we march closer and closer to the release of Destiny, I'm getting ever more excited for it. But, alas, I can't play it just yet. So, what am I going to do in the meantime? Well, as a big Metro fan, I'm going to be diving into the PS4 version of Metro: Redux.

After making the immense life decision of choosing who I'll play as in Mass Effect last week, I've actually put about 13 hours into the game as FemShep and am amazed at its insanely detailed, engrossing universe. That's what I plan to play this weekend, but I would also like to make some progress with Transistor and BioShock 2 before I start selling my soul and time next week to the fall semester at my university.

Warframe Update 14 just hit with a bunch of new content, so you'll be able to find me farming in the void for some argon crystals and various blueprints. I've also dusted off the old PS3 for the awesome sequel Tales of Xillia 2.

I’ll be mopping up more of the undead this weekend in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. I’ll also be replaying The Last of Us Remastered, as I attempt to obtain that Platinum Trophy.
Phew, that’s another issue complete. Can you believe it’s already been a week since last time? Time flies when you’re having fun and all that. Speaking of which, what are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

Drop that ghetto blaster!
Just started Adventure Mode in Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition. I might never play Story Mode again... People that think all they did was add a new class and one Act to the game could not be more wrong.
I have really been getting into PES2014 so i will be playing alot of that. Also Black Ops 2 and i need to get back to KoA reckoning. Hope you guys have a great weekend.
Nothing much, just Pikmin 3 this weekend. First time playing a Pikmin game, pretty fun. With great graphics.
actually today I've been watching Doctor Who to get refreshed for the new series
On my PS4 I'll be playing The Last Of Us Remastered. With my first week of school finished I will probably be doing homework and such. But when I do play my PS4 it'll be TLOUR like I stated before. I'm currently stuck on that tunnel part and I have like no supplies and there's so many clickers and bloaters down there its tough.
Pokemon Y. That is it.
One word. DIABLO. Haha.. I feel so lucky to be a person who has never in his life played a Diablo game until this Tuesday past. I conned my wife into starting the game with me because I heard it was much more fun playing coop and the two of us have just been absolutely loving it! She can't seem to master having to use 2 analog sticks at once, so this game is perfect for her.. and I've gotta say she's actually quite good. so that's my gaming for the weekend and foreseeable future ! After Tuesday though it will be rotating between that and metro redux!
I'm playing Puppeteer again, I didn't like first time, maybe now i'll...
@mitcHELLspawn Im in the same boat as you! Diablo for the first time and its really great on ps4! Add me on psn if you like, im pretty casual gamer, basically when kids are in bed, youll have the honor of being my first psn friend lol.... How sad (ive lost my mic tho!)
This weekend is going to be a lot of gaming, no work until thursday and have had hardly a break since i got the ps4 in the week it came out, bought so many games and hardly play them really so i will be delving into lots of them.
I'm sitting on my couch trying to decide what to play. It's between trying to dive back into gta5 to finish the story, making myself give ffx-2 one more chance (I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in the first hour of a game), dragging my wii u out of my bedroom to keep playing wind waker (don't have a tv in there - I just play on my gamepad at night) or maybe buying something else entirely. I definitely have a backlog, I just can't seem to convince myself what to play right now.
Fez and some Beyond Two Souls
Well since my vid card is going out on my PC and not having the money to get a new one right now my choices are limited.
PS4- NBA 2K14 with my son
Wii U- Mario Kart 8 online even though I am not too good I still have slot of fun with it.
3DS- Warioland II got this free from Club Nintendo and decided to give it a try and now I am hooked on it.
Diablo on ps4
TLoU again and loving it.
@get2sammyb S-Express????
@ferrers405
I played like two worlds of Puppeteer until I grew bored of it. I know it is supposed to be like a puppet play, but these characters just talk, and talk, and talk, with Picarina being the biggest offender. The gameplay never really clicked with me either.
So I will be mostly playing on my 3DS. I finished all stages of Bike Rider DX2 today minus the extra hard DLC. Plus I will be playing more Tappingo in anticipation of its sequel hitting next week.
@Neillybhoy77 Esssssss... Xpresssss...
Back into Blazblue Chrono Phantasma and Persona 4 Arena in preparation for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. When I'm away, though, Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment.
Destiny of Spirits as usual. Almost 1000 hours so far. I hope I never beat this record with any other game.
My weekend starts tomorrow! Sword Art Online is on the cards for me
Tales of Grace f
Diablo3: Ultimate Evil Edition PS4, this game has so much replay value it's insane.
Finally getting round to child of light. Great game so far
Update: I picked up diablo and I'm enjoying it so far!
Nothing this weekend to busy with studying and lifes other challanges...why cant i just win the lottery so i can vegatate infront of the ps4 everyday and play all the games i cant afford yet :/
On holiday playing my Vita backlog and enjoying it
Family is out, house to myself, off work for a week. I think it's time to play TLoU properly now, with sound system and all.
Diablo 3, Diablo 3 and more Diablo 3. Just hit paragon level 100. Doing T3 (occasional T4 tho my survivability isn't quite there) in pub rifts atm and loving it.
Brilliant game. Will tide me over till destiny!
I've been playing Counterspy. Really fun game. Totally exceeded my expectations. I'll probably play NCAA football too, totally hyped about the season starting!
Last night involved a meal and a few drinks evolving into a singstar session with a few mates.
Oh god help me I played singstar.
I'm planning on some Borderlands as well though! I'm not that bad!
I've been playing Hyperdimension Neptunia (the first one) on the PS3. On one hand my mind tells me that the game isn't great, on the other hand, I love the humor and I can't stop playing it. It's one of those games that I pick up, and the next thing I know I've spent 4-5 hours playing it. Hopefully I'll have it finished by September 9, when my Destiny PS4 bundle arrives!
Managed to get a few hours on Diablo today. It really is fantastic.
Puzzle by Nikoli X Sukoku (Win 8) - Addicted to sudoku!
I'm still playing The Amazing Spider-Man (PS3), I just completed Chapter 06: Smythe Strikes Back.
@AlexStinton Haha I like the sound of your weekend, I will never understand my fascination of obscure Japanese games.. Let me know if it's any good! I was always intrigued by the supposed level of detail in the backdrop of Akihabara
